I have just started swimming again after a gap of about 25 years(!), and I'm training for my first Triathlon. I'm very nervous about swimming when I have my period as I find that I leak when I get out of the bath, even with tampax. Is it different when you swim? Are there any other solutions? Are lilets any better? Also, I've just read about the Femmecup on Amazon, (see the link below), but couldn't find any reviews from swimmers. Any advice from seasoned swimmers is gratefully recieved. I have my first swim lesson on Monday and my period is due on Sunday. Typical!
Thank you!

I wear tampons but I don't leak... Try a higher absorbancy?
Being a woman is a right bugger sometimes x
It has no impact on my swimming other than maybe affecting my energy levels.
Your body stops bleeding in the water so as long as you get changed quickly when you get out then you shouldn't have a problem
I'd also try a tampon tat expands widthways, like Lil-Lets.
I think Tampax are pretty rubbish actually, not made the way women are made.
I'd try bigger absorption.
I've not used the cUp (swimming or otherwise) but hear that some people (once used to them) swear by them.
Hope you get it sorted and can swim worry free.
always uses liletts or asdas own......never got on with tampax..never had a problem swimming.........
luckily don't get any now since having the coil fitted so no worries at all
there are times when it's great being a fella..
you have my smpathies ladies
What? Does it really? How does it know?
Genuine questions.
I agree FB. I don't know if I could deal with all the responsibility that comes with having a female reproductive system.
Give me a cock and balls any day of the week.
Oh me too!
It looks a lot neater all tucked away inside at least. Big veiny cock and hairy balls dangling about down there looks frankly horrendous. It's like the alien queen and a couple of her eggs.
we prefer to think of it as meat and 2 veg.... but I will agree that it's not the most atrtractive part of our male bodys!!
PS: thanks for using "big" - most kind....
I was referring to my own.....
Tanks for the advice ladies, I'll try lilets, am already in topity top absorbtion Tampax, so it good to know maybe its Tampax that's crap rather than me being weird. Periods are sooooo annoying!
they are indeed.
I just don't swim "that week". Simple.
