Congrats to everyone out there. Those that made the cutoff and those that didn't.
Just to get there takes determination and commitment to training, (in spite of protestations that pirates don't train), so well done. I hope the DNFs are as proud of themselves as we are.
It was a fantastic and very exciting day yesterday - I thank you all.
been away all weekend visiting a very sick friend, now having read back through all the posts - what a wonderful day! we saw a 70min prog on the 1st Austrian channel but it was pants, lots of pre-race interviews with pro athletes and not much from actual race but we did see one Pirate lady finishing, looked like Lindi maybe. Congrats to all who finished, commiserations to those who didn't (been there, done that and know how it feels!) - better luck next year. Meldy and Squishy, very well done after all that hard work training. And super times rom our fast guys - what stars you all are!

And you couldn't have written a better ending to a film than Mouldy's finish.

Well done girl. You should be soooooooo proud of yourself.

To the racing snakes who finished in daylight.
To those who gritted their teeth and slogged on to the end.
To those who made the startline but not the finish - but still supported their teammates despite their disappointment.
To the supporters who really kept the Pirate profile high.
To you lot for keeping everyone up to date.

But remember these words (which came from the Penguin Chronicles one month)
The miracle isn't that I finished. The miracle is that I had the courage to start.
Well done everyone. Nice quote in post above pretty much sums it up for me.
Well, I don't know about all these Iron Peeps, but I'm exhausted having just read the thread.
