I am actually thinking about working more so I can get more time to train! its impossible with a toddler at home. At least when I am working I get a lunch break.
Am back am not a teacher am a Teaching Assistant. Get the holidays but much, much less dosh.
Am really committed to training at the moment and am focussed on getting fmyself fit. Am not dieting, I figure that eating healthy and not over doing it on the munch front will take care of losing the excess weight. As I said before I'm doing FLM in April which is a good goal, but I would love to give tri a go and September sounds like enough time to get fit and I'm in the Midlands so this one's not too far away and blah blah blah .......
I'm going to aren't I. Right, off to enter, back in a mo.
Am back. Was filling the entry form out and am not sure what times to guess-timate for each section. Is it important to fill these in or just leave blank. Also, where it asks for team name, was wondering, can I become a pirate?
Hmmmm, this is an interesting one. It looks like a possibility for me but I have got the Blackwater Sprint the weekend before so two back to back would be interesting! The trouble is it's difficult for me to know if I can actually make it 'Oop North' that weekend at the moment.
TT am just filling in the form - do I need to estimate times or just leave that section blank. As it's my first one and I haven't a clue how long am going to take - numpty alert!!!
Oh! Panic over then. I thought you were all entered and sorted. Right I'll calm myself down then and wait until I've actually got some money in the bank.
BUT I am committed here now, my name's on the list and everything I'm doing it woo hoo!!!
Which one is everyone else aiming at? I'll just be pleased if I'm able to manage all three things in one piece!
heeheeheehee. I am giggling because I've just filled in two entry forms for the sprint. heeheehee, i hate cycling!!!! what have I done! It was my hubby that wanted to try a tri, how have I got roped into this! teeheehee.
Pool based swim you enter the water before the clock starts. You lane counter then tells you to start. So you go spishy spalshy up and down the pool until the lane counter either taps you on the head or places a float in the water infront of you. You then have two laps left. Up and down then get out of the pool. Walk/slide/run/tumble towards the transition. While doing this place one hand on head and pull swim cap back with googles.
Once in transition, throw goggles and swim cap into your kit box. Find shoes for bike and helemet and place on feet and head(correctly) then grab bike and run to the exit of transition and mount the bike at the "mount" line you are now cycling.
Easy when you don't panic, a complete head f*ck when you do(yes I have f*cked up in transition before)
Before my first tri I remember having a nightmare about doing the run leg with both the helmet and the goggles still on. It would be so funny to see someone do that though!!!
Don't forget though that you have to have your helmet on and the strap done up before you even touch your bike, TT can correct me if I'm wrong but I think it's DQ if you do so def not a mistake to make.

it's a proper job where I get so many weeks a year to take... even worse I'm only alowed to take time off when the students are not in! *flounces*
I know what you mean about lunch breaks vs looking after children -I'm already planning swimming and bike training for lunch hours
arrhhh I thought you only worked term time.
I wish! I just take time off in school holidays to save on child care!
Right back to Tri business.... who else can we get to join us?
*feels the need for a new list*
*looks around for any list fairies*

Tritaffia..............might relax on the sidelines........drinking beer, eating pizza and giving tips like
"Unclip" "Helmet" "Don't swallow water"......................No I shall be good and support you lot. So any questions ask.

Can I just lurk on this thread and be on standby?
Aspen 2 sprints back to back is very doable. Just think of it as an oly broken up to be done in chunks.
Farnie I would not harpon you.......just dive bomb the pool wearing armbands and a rubber duck ring thing..
*panics*
which one are we signing up for?
or are we entering the ones we want and then meeting up afterwards?

You need to swim at least once before hand. 4 lenths of 25M pool then calcualte the time from there anf add 30 seconds.

That catchs a few out.
Goggles on head, why the f*ck won't my helmet fit!
Also runners flying out of t2 with helmet still in place.
