Shame on you Snicks, missing this event. You mean you don't check what races are going to be on when you go away on buisness. Tisk Tisk. I am sure you will agree that to running yesterday in Glasgow, was Hardcore, or just plain stupid!
well done everyone. Nessie,I sure was thinking of you when I heard the news last night. We are hoping the weather wont trap us in Inverness in October like it did last November. But I digress....A really really big congratulations to you all and if you want a free shooky email me @shooky72@hotmail.com(its a thing to keep your key in on your shoe)
hi swissbobby was looking for a freinds name stevie black i think his time was 1.59 a first try for him and also just a look at the time to check if i know any the name from when i used to run for motherwell distric ac,if you can tell me the www. thanks scunner
Sorry you didn't have a good race Drew, but it was still a great time and you'll get your target soon. I know what it feels like to get stomach cramps from lucazade sport, I had them at London-nightmare!
SB- well done on your pb, that's a very good time.
hi swissbobby cheers mate that worked i seen who i was looking for and also got me the kick start that i was looking for to make me run again to get ready for next year .
Hi swiss bobby, maybe there next year, plan to do the Moray Half Marathon so will see how close together they are. Glasgow really is a great place to run and was amazed to see people handing out sweeties in such bad weather.
I made it through the rain & muck.. new PB of 2:16 that being my watch & not official as I cant seem to get into the results, and OK it was my first half so I was always on for a PB ... but it is still good to get one !!! Well done to everyone, especially young Laura .. that was just brilliant. Sorry to hear about the pains Drew ... but still a good time. I think the people who stood out in that rain .. clapping nad cheering, handing out sweets and water deserve medals too ... ... what a great crowd considering. It was good to meet you all on Sat night .. like others have said .. a bit nerve wracking. Next great adventure .... Loch Ness Marathon(hoping Inverness has dried out by then).
Hello all. Just wanted to say that the great scottish run was my first ever competitive race, are they all like that!! If i'd known i'd have brought water wings. Even so I got a buzz from every aspect of the run, the encouragement of fellow runners, the best wishes of the crowd and the effort of all who helped in organising. I of course (it was my first) set a personal best time of 1.46.49 and finished in 1964 place, i can't wait to try and beat it now. What next any suggestions?
Well done all of you. Swiss Bobby with his PB, Drew with his tummy problems, and morriseyshairychest with his/her most impressive debut. SB, I would have defo been up for it. A bit of rain wouldn't put me off! Ellie, it would have been good to meet you too. Ah, well, next time. The person I was with was quite surprised about how obsessive I was, and couldn't understand why I was so keen to know what the race was. In fact when I got to the airport, the first thing I did was get out my RW and check the EVENTS list to see what I'd missed. I do hate missing out! Roll on Windsor.
hi i wonder if anyone could do me a favour im trying to find the result for my brother and i in sundays race for some reason i can,t access the results service i am alan lawrie(6281) and my brother is roddy lawrie(6282)if anyone could post our times and finishing position i would be extremely grateful. many thanks
I couldn't find anything on the run glasgow website, tho wanted to find finishing position, how is SwissBobby doing this?and now morriseyhairychest, was reluctant to put anyone to trouble but if I canny find it soon I will have to!!Well done, everyone, again and a special thanks to the lady who gave me the jelly baby and much needed encouragement near the end!!!!
First race on Sunday and delighted with my time of 1.41.31.
Is anyone else doing the St Andrews Hospice 10k on the 22nd? (same day as Edinburgh which is not great planning as the 2 events are less than 40 miles apart) Aimimg for sub 45 mins that day.
6189 SwissBobby, sorry to put you to trouble, you seem like an organiser tho!!How does he do that(I came in just behind the marines...they were great to run along with,I'm not an arseoggler, but the guy giving them instructions knew just how to pace them and it was my pace too, though I wasn't carrying a 50lb pack or wearing full army kit including boots!!!)
I was being sarcastic. I am trying to work out whether I have to go through the lotto or whether I am in seperate lotto, or wether I have to take a tour, and if so who is organising them. Or the more likely they have not thought about the international mugs...
Fun Run my ar$e!! First time run. Only started running about 9 weeks ago. I was disappointed with my time though - 2:24. Was hoping for 2:10. But I guess my training didn't include running in the bath before running outside!! Glad to see there are lots of mental folk out there that turned up on the day!! Such a great day. What's next?!?

Me, I loved the weather, but I'm mad.
How about a mention for the volunteers. That was a task and a half for Sunday.
Have y'all taken note of next year's Edinburgh Marathon? Entry forms being sent out online 20th Sept for ballot.
See ya there (I hope) - maybe it'll rain.
AMOGHAVAJRA (aka The Abominable Slowman)
P.S. The Penguin would surely have got a p.b. at Glasgow.
Don't know when we'll get confirmation. One page on the website say before Christmas, another says January.
As you say, Swiss Bobby, this already looks good.
