Do we think the BBC may at least acknowledge the presence of possibly the best female endurance athlete in the world, a second win at Kona after a 10 minute stop for a flat tyre was pretty awsum to then go on and win by 15 minutes
Battered the world long course championships in Holland and well known friend of the pirates ... ask Iron mike
Lets get her nominated at least then see if we can hijack the thing from footballers or motor racing drivers who think a tough day is 15k run or an 80 mile pootle in the car
Comments
someone like Ben Ainslie would be a good shout after his 3rd gold in Beijing but that's boats so doesn't count...
by all means be happy to help nominate her as he is pretty special but I doubt if she'll get much of a mention, if at all......
and how many world champs do you see vas'ing their crotch before the race starts?...........yep, she was talking to us at the same time wishing each other luck....

here is where to leave a comment to the BBC lets see if we can get some coverage
Pebble - having heard her in interview and listened to other pro's comment about her performance I reckon she really is that "good" . And why shouldn't she be - she's defo a real character and it would be great to see long distance multisport brought more into the public arena. Were this NZ (for example) where tri is much bigger, this nomination would be a no brainer.
She gets my vote.....
if so - I don't think so - I just don't think she's that type of person. she is just streets ahead of the rest of the field - a modern day Paula Newby-Fraser in some ways
She is that good, and trains like an absolute b****rd , so I am told
I know Hoy has a much better chance but would still like to see her get some real coverage.
Candy ... got a reply from the BBC
" Candy who?"
Regards SPOTY, its not the best sports person who wins but "Personality" so thats it for Wellington & Cooke . Who has been in the media the most??? Hoy, probably !!
Overseas SPOTY would be the other "too good to be true" athlete, that really fast runner who has not failed a drug test yet!
Sorry if I seem bitter but these superhuman performances are just that! superhuman, and these do not exist.
Now, now, kids. No one is to stone anyone until I blow this whistle!
So you would argue that every person that has taken a sport forward in terms of performance must have been taking drugs?
I understand where yu are coming from and I am sure that ironman triathlon has plenty of undetected cheats since the testing regime is pretty weak but generally I don't subscibe to the idea that everybody is at it.
I think Rebecca Adlington (one D or two?) is probably in with a good shot. Would be lovely to see Chrissie get it, but i think we're dreaming there.
The damage that drugs cheats do to our sport(s) is quite nicely illustrated here - people become so skeptical, and at the first sign anyone achieves something impressive, everyone cries "cheat". Shouldnt we have just a little faith in the system? I know its not perfect, but I think we're just causing more damage by accusing anyone who's any good.
