Kasia-that's a brave distance to go for on your first race although I'm sure you'll have a great time and do fine!!

Thanks hilly. I hope to do a few 10k before September so that I get used to the atmosphere of competition and get some experience. The are not as many races in Poland as there are in the UK, but one can always find something
Afternoon eevryone. Speedie well done on doing that particular session. I saw it in a mag somewhere and thought "You've got to be going well to take that on!".
What: 7 mile run @ 10 mile pace, 10 miles cycling, 750m swimming flat out and then a full weights session. Why: Schedule says so Last hard: Monday Last rest: Wednesday
My HR Max when last tested was 195, Im thinking of getting it re-done,I managed a 223bpm on my bike yesterday, but im blaming that on the pylons I cycled by, as I was taking it easy at this point.
The sesion I done today was taken from 220 tri mag, It also has another session in there that many elite athletes complete including Paula Radcliffe.
The athlete runs progressively faster as they get more tired, but the important part is rhe recovery phase.
Connection so darned slow, I haven't the time to read everybody's post first. Bother.
What. 4 Miles, inner ring route. I don't often run in the afternoon, but I had resolved not to run until the violin neck was glued in.
That done, the run was of a celebratory nature. Not bad. Quite stiff from not having run for several days - teach me to have a lay off! That wore off and legs had a good deal of kick, ran the whole way and no ill effects at the end, beyond the left foot drooping.
Happy birthday Steady & thanks for all the wishes on mine yesterday all. Kasia looking forward to having a friend in Poland. Ginger is supposed to be an anti-inflamatary. plus taste's good!
What: 10ishM @ sub 7min mileling, felt good which was suppriseing.
Why: getting miles in before I start serious marathon training at the end of June.
Wish I could make something as beautiful as a violin Stickless.
What marathon are you doing again BT?
Loz - not a race but LDWA event taking in Fairfield, Red Screes and a few others in the Lakes, 22 miles/7000 odd ft ascent so need some hill strength back in my legs! Also got Swaledale mountain marathon in June.
Laura I'm doing Amsterdam. Nice & flat not sure I'm up to a mountain marathon but sounds quite interesting. I would like to race in the Lake District as I have'nt been back since being a youngster. I know Pete & Anne Bland & thay say how wonderful it is.
The only good thing about tonight seems to be Manchester PLC getting stuffed, although even that is by General Franco's team.
5 mile race - 28.59, 16 secs slower than last year.
I set off steady trying to refocus on race pace, then pushed it miles 2 and 3 and overtook half a dozen runners. My legs then started to feel heavy and the bloke I had in my sights (who was the same one I thought I'd take @ 20 miles in the FLM) seemed to find a new lease of life. Last 2 miles were downhill and I managed to overtake one more which is unusual but not this 50 year old from Doncaster. I tried upping the pace and did for a few bits but not enough.
My throat felt very dry, probably the remnants of this infection.
But still, a slower time than last year, the same amount of days after a marathon, but this time after a bit of rest. Had no rest last year and ran better. Hmmmmmm.....
Hello everybody- just a flying visit I'm at a friends.
What-did an early morning swim, still not started running yet. But have sat outside drinking beer and planning my triathlon schedule for the summer- it's a hard life.
Oh - and 4 pounds heavier than 2 weeks ago (post FLM imbibations if there is such a word), so if a pound equals 2 secs per mile, then that's 8 secs per mile or 40 secs in the race - the difference between disappointment and pleasure.
I don't understand. I thought this was a forum for us all to share our daily ups and downs and running highs and lows. It surely doesn't matter how fast or slow you are. It's the comradeship of another running club that counts.
