Squeakz......the solution to that is not to surf in work times
I agree......there is a facility to report spam and anything that you find really offensive.............then the moderators will look at it.......you can't expect them to spend their time reading all our drivel
the spam on here is much less than some other forums I look at - full of naked ladies with gents some of the spam are.......oh hang on, that's not the spam.....
I agree about no more moderation. It's not necessary. The forum moderates itself. And if you're hypersensitive, don't post on a public forum. Moderation just panders to the wims of the minority. For every one person who complains about a "troll" there are 100 who aren't bothered in the slightest.
Is this the thread where i can ask for a place in this years VLM i really want to do the event, and I was surprised that it is fully booked up right now. I've not done much running so was planning on walking most of it.
This thread is rubbish. There hasn't been one side-splitting picture posted of a cat doing something hilarious, but at the same time terribly cute, yet. Maybe being dressed as a ballerina or al capone or hitler or "maddie" or something. I'm off to read the daily express.
I sometimes visit a, non running, forum where anything even slightly contentious, tongue-in-cheek or off-topic is quickly moderated away out of sight. To my mind that has resulted in a sterile forum that is lacking in both humour and honesty. Give me the lighter touch of RW mods any day!
it's usually fairly easy to guess which threads and links are going to be of non-work suitable content - just use a little bit of common sense. Or, of course, leave the foruming for outside work, if you're that bothered about what might appear.
I've used a forum which introduced active moderation - removed pretty much every post that contained anything that could even possibly be interpeteted as an opinion, swear words were all auto corrected (what it did to scunthorpe was positvely hilarious!) - it rapidly turned into an incredibly sterile place, with no possibility to exchange views, let alone have a joke.
be careful what you wish for - when the gods wish to punish us they grant our wishes...
it's a cracker eh?? I dip in there from time to time just to amuse myself at the ranting.....not a member though - I don't think I can compete with some of those lunatics......
If I ever go to a fancy dress event I'm just going to take my dad with me, get him a bit pissed up on red wine, and make him carry a shovel around with him.
If anybody asks who I am, I can just say "maddie"!

No way I'd risk opening that link at work!
