Fb page Outlaw Triathlon We have a bike course! You'll get a mailing this week and we're putting the maps online too (as quickly as we can!) If you're at the Triathlon Show this weekend come and have a chat about it. Basically it's one lap of the 2011 course followed by two laps of a new circuit south of the river Trent. Tri show!!!! Two more sleeps, also manning the final part of #bishopshell at trafalgar square tomorrow afternoon as we're one the sports relief sponsors, should be cool!
Ahh the bike feed, what about the pirates? Won't we be feeding them too?
I couldn't get CiTH's map link to open, but I did see it said Gain of 4279ft!! Approx 1400yards of climb on a flattish course?!
So I've just stuck the route into Mapmyride and got a less heart-stopping 1600ft with only 1 climb of any note, a gentle 1 mile of Cat 5 steepness (3% ish) so all good. Maybe CiTH's is distorted by his fat fingers peak!

(Tri show that is not the bike course )
*ponders what that may mean for the Pirate bike feed*
(The bike coure that is, not the Tri Show)

Misery!
Second loop looks flat-ish from the air, low-level.
I would think it would be if its round the river but I dont know the area at all really
Little Sister would be able to give a comprehensive run down I am sure!
Elevation
Ignore the big peak between 37 and 43 miles. Finger trouble and autorouting means a small loop added on that isn't on the course.
Will try and edit that later. I fancy a recce at some point, but even missing out the second loop it'll be too much to squeeze in on one day methinks.

I've been looking at the maps and there's not many contours to worry about, as Cake said there's a few speed bumps!
Your "3%" is more like this:
Although it's signposted as this:
But that bit only lasts for 50 to 100 m!!
Eek! - I don't like signposts like that unless they are suggesting a descent!!
