Pink, where will you be staying. I do fancy the Brighton 10K, have been told it will be fun. Was going to stay with my brother but can't now - he split up with her. Brighton hotels are funny, you have to book in for 2 nights and i only want to stay for one
Was supposed to be doing my training today but woke up with vertigo so have had to postpone till tonight hopefully. I do run on the treadmill so wouldn't be passing out in public but still don't fancy falling off the thing.
Yllana, hope to have a flat down there by then so am sure we can sort something out. re hotels, I've just booked 1 night in travelodge for next week so don't think that'll be a problem. Will let you know if its any good.
mine was the reebock website, click the link from this website. I think it will be the 16 coz thats a sunday. Don't think many races take place on a monday.
Doh! of course Pink you are moving down there soon. Do let us know which travellodge your using, but you said you would.
All this talk makes me really really tempted.
Mmm may even go to website and down load application form
Very tempted. good price though. Will have to check it out. I tried to down load a form from the website but am having problems. I think you can apply from this website can't you?
I do like being dominated by all these women The FLM form is getting nearer !
I'm doing the Brighton 10k as well as the Nike 10k in 3 weeks times in Richmond park. Hoping for under 1 hour at the Nike and even less at Brighton. Mind you the Brighton one, although flat could be really windy at that time of year, so could still be pretty hard work.
I want to get onto a half marathon round the end of this year/beginning of next (in prep. in case I do get into the FLM). Anyone know of any ? I'm SE London based, so within an hour or 2's drive of there would be preferable.
Julie, great well thats 4, should have beers after! We'll deserve it! Or maybe hot chocolate (tis November!)
Just looked at application form for Brighton 10k, they need an estimated time.............how long have they got?!!! Seriously though, if I can do a 5k in 31min, then 10k approx 75 min? Is that doable? Would like to say 1hr but lets be realistic here!
Will probably apply once I have an address in Brighton so I know where to get the stuff sent, but definitely count me in! We can be cold wet rags together!
I'm with you pink. I can do 5K in about 35 minutes, on a good day so i reckon 80/90 minutes to be on the safe side. I guess they need that to sort out the line up.
Actually, three months off you say, maybe i will aim for the hour then.
Oooohh - you're all tempting me! I was looking for a 10k around the end nov or beginning dec. and was thinking of trying to find out more about the regent's park ones on the first sunday of the month.
Need to re-check my diary and some training schedules.
I was like that during my last (also my first 10k) - for the last 2k I was thinking this is hell, I am never doing this again! Then afterwards I was on such a high I wanted to do a half marathon!
Well vertigo subsided and I've done my run 8/walk 2 mins three times and survived. This is the most I've done so far and feel quite virtuous at completing it although can't say I enjoyed any of it!
Good luck to the "Wet Rags" on your 10K and MarkM get that form in the post before you change your mind!
Right have to fess up - I said that my 5k time was 31:08 well I've just been on the website and it was 32:08. But still 3 min under training time so still proud! I came 169th out of 177. Oh well! Slowest time was 40min.
Great to see lots of people up for the Brighton 10k, will see you all there! Including Nessy - go on, come too! Will probably put down 70min as I forsee a small amount of walking! Would hate to put down a time and not beat it!
Joby, if its any consollation I found the run8/walk2 x3 the toughest stage. Give it a couple more goes and then move up to the 2x12 mins (or whatever your programme has next) - for some reason that seems so much easier. Well done though, its a great feeling when you get round something you never thought you would. You can give your halo a quick polish!

MarkM - go on, you know you want to! There is a Brighton half marathon in February, but not sure if that is too late for you?

You can do it nessy. The feeling of completing is just such a high that the agony of those last couple of k are worth it.
