There was an item in the torygraph at lunch time about a young lady who had to call the fire brigade on Saturday night cos the hand cuffs broke and trapped her in the bed room...
Made me think of LiverBird... Then again it said a) young b) lady..............
Hello! can I ask a serious question? There are a lot of old threads being re-posted on the Marathon page by names like jjkljkl jkljkl. Do we inform the mods on here if we see this happening? Or PM them?
Mimmi .. those spammers have been removed, I believe the names still appear as a last poster for some time Probably an idea to add any ones that you spot onto this thread for a while .. seems as good a place as any !!
Blimey Mr Boat - just look at the kick off aboout deleting Spam.
Imagine if someone were given the power to cull the 4987 threads on "can i race with an ipod" and the 2431 threads on "can my heart go higher than my max ?"
The world would surely end.
Stopping these threads would be equivalent to RW admitting there is no longer any need to produce "new" issues of the magazine...
Most forums that I've used pick moderators carefully.
It needs to be people who spend a lot of time on the forum, and also who have been very non-confrontational in threads already and maybe even have tried to pour oil on the waters of arguments already.
This would involve lots of work for RW's paid staff at first, but as time goes on, the volunteers will pick more moderators. Perhaps RW would be prepared to give them some freebies as a sweetner (must be plenty of goodies hanging round the office that have been sent to you for review).
Bit of a fuss created over nothing I've worked with many sites and communities over the years and have never received a penny for it. I volunteer to give something back to sites I use a lot. Spam is a total pain in the ass for staff of any site, especially as many spam accounts post normally for a while before spamming,or they quote posts and hide links inside a single letter.
I can't see the chosen four doing much different in that respect. Good decision by RW HQ or whatever it is
Maybe so TN - but once more RW appear to have asked for support and/or involvement from the forum, got it in terms of feedback and generous offers of time and effort from some, and then cleared off and left everyone to it.
I would still like a reply to my questions, as it was suggested that there may be some feedback from RW. I accept that I wont get a personal reply to the email I sent but to not come back on to the thread where you asked for input is just plain rude.

Dominique - any chance of a reply to feedback you invited? Thanks.
I'll take that as a no then ......
Mods/Spam Wombles, thank you. By the looks of things in the lack of response from RW since Monday, you're on your own from now on in.

Above post is deliberate. It's more of a response than we've had isn't it?
It seems a good idea to me. Nobody is being forced to do it and it aids the community as a whole. Not bothered whether they have badges or not.
