To the cyclist who effortlessly passed me struggling up a lumpy bit, on the way to my running hill reps session last night.
Yes you did overtake me, only because I had done a big bike hill reps session the night before. My legs were trashed and I felt like I was trying to push down on my pedals with cotton wool buds.
I'll get you next time.

target ahoy!!!
lol A guy in my village over took me on his Haulfrauds special the other week and shouted "not trying mate" .... When I caught him I pointed at the trip meter showing distance completed 106 miles.... His face was a picture !
Episodes like this, especially on the return journey, is why I started driving to hill training

No, he overtook you because you are weak.

We've all had that, it's one of the downsides of long distance cycling. Strava doesn't help, telling me I'm near the bottom of the rankings for some climb or other without pointing out that it was at the end of a 100 mile ride.
I'm just sh*t, I've gotten used to it. A four your old on a pink barbie bike passed me earlier this week and I'd only done 3 miles.
CD - jeez man i was weak last night
It didnt help that he was one of those super lean tall bendy looks epic on a bike types. Red mist fell and i thought about chasing him and then remembered i couldnt feel my legs
It doesn't matter what mileage i do whether running or cycling........i just tell myself that the one overtaking me has just started on their training run and are going too fast and they will pay in a bit for their overeffort........i am not slow .they will suffer.....so they will.......
As long as you are in front when it counts is all that matters. People pass me all the time, doesn't bother me in the slightest.....
much
pebble - well, you are stronger than me then. it winds me right up
Yes but doesn't it feel good when you pass someone on a bike and you are RUNNING!!!!
EC - I agree ... seems to upset cyclists when I run past them** ... (even though I know they are doing reps on a hill I normally push my bike up !)
Even more if I 'slow down' and chat to them as we go up ...
** Note - this doesn't happy very often, but great fun when it does.
ec - yep. even if it is the old doddery dude on his 800 year old rusty bike
oii - they are the only ones I get to do this to.
