I need to start planning a tri training weekend/week in Europe in the New Year. I will be going on my own , so looking for advice on where to go - critically I would rather hire a bike at the location than pack up mine. Also I would like to join a group on one for these all inclusive kind of deals.
So for those who have done this sort of thing, where would you recommend?
Thanks.

There's a free Overseas Training Guide in this month's 220 Tri Mag - 28 of Europes Best Overseas Training camps - worth a look??
ah ha - that might be just the job. Cheers Rafi
If going solo then join an organised camp otherwise you'll not do it, its easy to skip sessions when no one is watching.
Another thing to look at is what standard the camp is, is it just a jolly or a real beasting and what are you looking for?
Another option is just take a long w/e and rope in locals to join you for one or more of each session.
Hi Bedders, I've been on two camps with these guys
Pyrenees Multisport
I think Melli has also been to them as well. They are excellent, well organised, lovely venue, great food.
If you're looking to hire a bike then I'll throw my 2p worth in and say that the ones at Club La Santa in are very good if you're doing a training camp there, and Procycle hire in Mallorca do very good bikes too.
just avoid Club La Santa - it's like Butlin's for grown ups and bar it's facilities it's one of the most depressing places I've been to.
Agree - even registering for IM Lanza there depressed me.
Well, to be fair I was going to point out that it's not to everyone's taste. I was there with a training camp that was very good - decent coaches, nice group of people on it, great rides, all of which made up for the shortcomings of ClS itself.
I can recommend these guys

in the French Pyrenees. (English) family run outfit, great food, great atmosphere and great training!

The lanza one has about 15 campers on it. everything from kona qualifirrs down to 14hr Imers
They 3 different bike groups, and different ride options each day.....
Its also pretty cheap at ??600 + flights
You can hire a bike from a couple of shops in puerto del carmen if you really have to.
Mamy thanks everyone. Looks like I am heading for the Pyrenees.
And if anyone else fancies joing in then please PM me.
Yep La Santa is one ugly soul less place, and its lagoon is an old docks. Hated it....
