I've decided to run the Paris marathon 7 April. I have been training (am at 1/2 standard) and am really looking forward to it, but I have some questions that I hope you lovely people can help me with.
I will be travelling with hubby and would love to tie in some site seeing if that's not too crazy an idea...
How am I likely to "feel" after the marathon? Is it plausible to go site seeing the next day? Or should I perhaps try and do the tourism bit before the run? What kind of activity could I be doing the days before and after the run?
How soon after the run could I fly home? Or should I be flying the day before etc...?
All advice welcomed
thanks in advance

.Although the stairs up and down might b hard but good recovery exercise. U can travel back any time you want. Just drink, eat, unwind and shower before hand. If u train well you will probably be fine. And Paris marathon is great. Enjoy the training and the experience.
wow - feel much better now - can start to plan the trip as well as the training! thanks
Fly out Thursday Expo Friday, 5km Breakfast run on the Saturday, Marathon Sunday, Sight seeing (& shopping for the wife) Monday, Fly home Tuesday
is LISA Jones married to a woman then Dave??
She's called Jones.. Very liberated now the Welsh !!!
Lazy cut and paste from somewhere else...

Lisa pop over to events and find the Paris Marathon thread for helpfull advice
Here's the thread Dave mentioned
The irony of marrying a man who loves to shop and watch me run!
everyone reacts differently (i recover more slowly than most) but you will certainly be able to do something and as GTC says, it will be good recovery exercise.
just don't plan your schlep up to sacre coeur (sp?) on that day
enjoy the race.
