So ... do I understand correct ... if I sign up to Welsh Tri/Bristish tri, whatever then I don't need to bring a medical cert?
And if I'm a member of Welsh Tri/Bristish tri I'm covered by insurance for the day. But .. no doubt will still need some holiday IM insurance?

Yes, most people take travel insurance on top. I'm not sure what BTF covers but it's not medical insurance.

But I think the BTF insurance only covers you for third party issues - i.e. if you crash into someone's car and they sue you for damage, you're covered. But you are not covered for medical as Mouse points out.
Well then crash by all means but don't harm yourself in the process would seem to be the advice here
