Is anyone else really excited about this? I can't wait - it's going to be so exciting and Team GB are in with seriously good prospects in both the men's and the womens.
I'll be there, on the edge of my sofa, cheering on the girls on Saturday morning and the Brownlees on Sunday afternoon. It's going to be amazing, if the last few races have been anything to go by.
I have cleared my social calendar for this - that's how excited I am!!!!!!!!!
Comments
Beth are you on day release?
Calling the Brownlees a "seriously good prospect" is a slight understatement
better hide the crayons
I have to admit I am a bit excited....but only a bit, no wee escaped.
It is rare to here ITU World Series mentioned on here.... You are only allowed to get excited about Ironman .
I can't wait, I really hope Jonny wins and takes the title. I'll be gutted if Gomez gets it though it's unlikely Alistair will not win. The girls are a lot closer, fingers crossed for Non.
Lol - I'm not on day release, but as I'm injured at the moment, I am focusing my energies on supporting other sportsmen and women instead - and that's a LOT of energy!!
I'm happy if Jonny or Alistair win - as long as Gomez doesn't......
For the girls, I'd really like Jodie Stimpson to win - she's made such amazing progress I think she really deserves it.
I think Alistair has won his last 10 ITU races. So with him being the current leader I think he has a chance
I think Stimpson is a bit of an outsider. Stamford, Haug and Jorgensen are very strong.contenders. The womens race is very open. Is the race live on the red button?
Actually Jonny beat Alistair 2 races ago in Hamburg!
Jodie Stimpson....progress......is she on day release?
Oooh-er dilemma. Do I do the parkrun or watch it live? Can you pause the red button.
Seeing the highlights of Stockholm toady, I think the mens is very open too. Gomez is looking strong.
It is unbelievable that with an athlete of Javier's caliber there cannot be a shadow of a doubt. There is, however it is highly likely that Alistair will win. I do believe that Gomez will this time manage to beat Jonny.
This year however it is true that Javi has not beaten a Brownlee when either or both were racing him. What a trio!
I'm excited! I think Alistair will win men's and Jorgensen women's. I'm going to watch the men's in London. Not sure I get to watch women's live on red button as out the night before so getting up early might not happen.
I would be bad if Gomez wins, as all his wins this year came when Jonny & Ali were not there, obviously he'd have to beat them in London, but other than that his points came when they weren't racing. Where as Alistair has won all but one of his races (where he came 2nd to his brother).
Won't it be wonderful if after tomorrow's race GB has both world titles? But you never know, I would have put money on both Gwen Jorgensen and Anne Haug being in the mix at the finish. Hopefully this time around in the the park Jonny won't incur a penalty!
It was pretty exciting today...even in the rain I was so pleased for Stimpson, she's like a changed woman this season.
As for the men, I'd like to say it's a foregone conclusion but after today, who knows? I do like Gomez a lot, I think he's a great athlete. He's going to be solid when he goes long distance permanently I reckon.
Great race! Looking forward to tomorrow.
Is it too late to take that bet with you Ironwolf? It is on live at 2.30 isn't it?
So pleased for Non but what an amazing dramatic sport Triathlon is. You never know who will win. Jorgensen, Stimpson and Haug have all looked unbeatable at times but this was Stamford's day. I thought it was all over when she got that penalty but the London rain put paid to Jorgensen. Bad luck for her. One small mistake put her from 1st place overall to 4th. Very harsh.
I had my money on Haug. Nice of her to turn up though.
She got a sleeve in! Didn't seem to do her any harm though and the pace she came out of the box was phenomenal!
On my way to watch the men's race live. Any ideas on the best spot to watch?
The press area next to Transition
Probably by the triangle near the Serpentine bridge as you'll see the bike and run.
