Ali, you'll be fine. Sounds like you've done loads of open water. They start in waves so yes, you will have chance to get in a few mins before your "wave" starts to get used to the water.
I have had to make the gutting decision to pull out of the Vit, I have been diagnosed (almost certainty -physio talk) with a stress fracture in my foot. hopefully I will be able to tow the line at my next tri in 5 weeks if I behave myself!
Postie, if you can swim I'm happy to pair up. I have damaged shoulder muscles after a boozy weekend of enthusiastic pitching for 2 hours (softball)! I therefore haven't swum for a while and was going to see how it went on the day.
thanks daylight.got to ring back again this afternoon as they might not have any spaces.....
i have really not thought this race through.usually really organised.......I have even locked my roadbike back away in storage and haven't ran, swam or cycled for 10 days
I think in my mind my triathlon season has finished already
I've had the same problem since my long swim a couple of weeks ago. My swimming should be pretty good for this, and biking I can get by on residual fitness, but I suspect the run is really going to hurt =(
PSC is too late to change it I'm afraid (all the numbers etc printed, apparently)
I could have swum and cycled(im cleared to cycle as long as I don't stand up, my stress fracture is in my little toe fortunately)but I don't trust myself not to run, and I have to wear a boot to walk. lake to transition is way too far to chance walking without the boot and I am hoping to make the start line of challenge Almere in 3 1/weeks! Small sacrifice for bigger fish..
bugger too OC....Has anyone booked a pitch they don't want ...or have a little tent and want to share my bugger tent.need my cooked breakfast pre race......otherwise I will share with Rios dogs ..
Thanks Paperman.......i do prefer camping of its dry........if its wet reserve me a space on the floor please
no worries Postie... my shoulder is improving so I am going for a test swimble this weekend. Enough sandbagging... I'm only there to give Nicko some abuse!
We will have the separate bedroom and they will be in with us most likely or Benji will take himself for a deer chasing stroll in the night like he did one year :-/

Pub is the correct spelling...
19 days to go, then squidgy goose and duck shit between the toes time
Thanks PSC , just what I needed to hear, although I feel I've topped up my OW skills yesterday at Ride London!

Nooooooooo it can't be!
May as well say 16 days now, less 7 for tapir.

Just hoping the tent still goes up and isn't mouldy as it hadn't been used for 2 years

just had the race packs email.and the swim is in waves..and all the women are last.....WTF..why on earth women last.......
i know now why i don't normally do wave starts.......
Seren - give me a yell in IM if you are stuck - we live a couple of miles away, and can probably sort something out.
bugger - camping is fully booked

Boooo! Can't believe we are in Wave 6.
Always the last wave ladies, it sucks!
Yes and I remember the water being rather warm by that time
