Blister's go on you know it makes sence dirty weekend on the moor's you can stop off for tea and cake somewhere. Nothing to worry about over than sheep and the odd rain cloud.
Blisters - you'd be welcome to stay over if that would help.
SA - my legs may not think so with it being so close to VLM but I'd like to think they'll oblige. It's just hills I'm not great at, the drags like Froggatt are better for me.
There is a cyclist friendly tea rooms in Edensor too which does very good cake.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
I am SA - did two hours on the bike today and legs were surprisingly good post VLM but I'm not sure how long they'll work for especially if I add hills - what are you planning?
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
I'm free. Can meet any of you guys whenever friday. SA if stanner's is to early and if it's any good your more then welcome to get bacon at ours we have a few hills on the doorstep or could meet you guys on route.
Happy where you wearing a pirate buff in nodnol sunday? say a lass with one but they where already past me so couldn't see there face.
I was indeed Cake, with a Macmillan vest - didn't realise you were going to be there - did you have a good day?
I would really like to get a 4 hour ride in this weekend and Friday is looking like the best day weather wise but it will take me nearly an hour and a half to ride to Matlock and I'm not sure what the legs/endurance will be like as obviously still recovering (though all seems to be working well so far). On the flat I think I could sit in at 17mph or so but not sure what the hills would do to my pace - other than slow it drastically! I wouldn't want to slow you guys down, only ride around 16 - 17mph on my own on the flat.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
I was at mudchute chuckles getting drunk and handing out jelly babies, was a excellent day.
Your roughtly where I'm at at the moment in turns of speed just in case so I wouldn't worry changes are I'll be faster on a hill know Q is faster on the flat but don't know about on a hill Stanner's is just a beast.
Are you down nottingham/derby way then? Mathchick or some of the other's on the shorter tri thread might be up for a bimble if this doesn't work out for meeting up but personally I'd be well up for meeting up with folks regardless of ability.
I'm doing a group ride Friday, start Derby, likely to be quite hard (hence I'm bailing out half way) but the rest are going over the Cat and Fiddle if anyone is feeling energetic!
Oh sorry Q sorry just realised we x-posted. If you want I'm yours all day mate. Can meet you in the hill's or if you want somewhere safe to park the car (not that you will need it as sheep don't go in for joy riding) at ours and then carry on on the bike.
Might be worth while coming up our way at some point anyway sooner or later so I can show you mortamar road. and get you drunk mate.
I can meet you guys where ever is good for you? Just in case Happy my PM hasn't worked properly for a couple of month's not sure why but assuming I'm not the only one.
I was looking for something over the weekend or during the day on a Tuesday or Thursday really pops. Would 'steady' be 17 - 18mph? That's probably what I'd need sitting in to make it a workout (I train to HR).
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
i know steady sometimes turns into fast but I'm pretty sure this will stay steady, the woman that is doing it doesn't race. By the way feel free to post on that forum any time - if you suggest a ride at a given pace you normally get some takers.

If it's Easter I may be able to come and play - if you don't mind a girl potentially slowing you down? The original date was to close to VLM for me.
Hope you're fully recovered soon Pops.
That would be great LMH
Checky but if you make it good friday I can make it.
every Friday is good in my book
Why am I browsing this thread? It's a long way from where I live, there are hills in my back yard, and I haven't got a pass out.
But I originally come from not too far away from that route, and my sister lives in Buxton...I also know that Derbyshire is where God rides his bike.

A touch shorter than we'd planned but turned it in to a long brick session. You guys missed out on a glorious morning (if a little windy).
70km and over 1,000m of climbing - http://connect.garmin.com/activity/469404503
Anyone free this Friday?

I need a long hilly bike, if you fancy a shorter one then I can cycle to any meeting point and pick up there.
SA, i am planning an early doors jaunt as long as brick tonight and physio diagnosis tomorrow comes up trumps. 6am start though...any good?
How long is long? And where would you be coming from? It sounds as though you may be better off with Stanners.

16-17 on the flat is perfect
what is best location for you? I am more than happy to drive over somewhere, makes a nice change having company on rides
I can add distance on at end if needed
Cake will you be joining us?
wouldn't mind early but maybe not as early as Stanners is talking about

I don't do mega early on the holidays - somewhere around or after 0900hrs would be best - tell you what, I'll PM you now.

Any easier rides going out locally over the holiday that you know of pops?
SA - let me know if my PM didn't get to you.
I did get it and have replied, I take it you haven't got that so have copied here
I'm in Macclesfield
Happy to travel to where ever or meet half way, just be glad of some company.
LMH, there is a women only group on the chaingang every Tuesday now that will be steady as the woman who started it isn't super quick.
