Have had one entry last night, 15 minutes after I put it online!
that 's planning ahead , well I suppose it is officially Spring so Autumn is just around the corner.
Would be glad to enter again , having come last in 2013 I have something to prove, oh and it was a great event
Our last place person has entered this year as she missed last year. She gets upset if she ends up beating anyone! Her usual time is about 3hr 40 mins!
ok 3 40 I can do, provided the wind changes and follows me around
Well in the past 9 years we have had all sorts of weather conditions (apart from Snow!) The year we had dense fog had athletes questioning if they should have their bicycles lights attached!
still a hate/put up with relationship with these non swimming events! Loved it at the time but need some water to show off in. Struggled through dambuster a few weeks ago and have not recovered yet!
5 years ago when sponsored by LaFarge we discussed the possibilty of on the run going down to the bottom of their quarry and back out creating a big climb up the tracks. That year they had loads of rain and one of their quarry water pumps broke! We measured how much water was in the quarry and decided it was a bit too deep for the run unles we kitted the runners out with snorkels!
nice
Just to let you know, this year again it will be chip timed so it will show how long you are in transition!
but it's such a nice field!
As it is the 10th year of me organising it, something related to it will be given out instead of T-Shirts, etc.!
I'm in, there'll be 4 or 5 of us coming along I'll sort out whose up for it over the weekend a couple of the guys at work wanted to do something but aren't confident swimmers sounds ideal.
this is THE best event I have entered thus far for non confident swimmers
We can throw a run through a paddling pool?
just gathered one more entrant after perusing the photos of last years event, we will number 3
Nice one!
Further update, not only entries get a 10 yr single Malt (miniature) but am now looking at get engraved 'Tot' glasses to go with it!
go on, give it one more go in a few months!
you can a second or third passport then the stamps wont show up at the border crossing?
I used to have 2 passports (Middle East travel issues)
Not a passport issue, More the uncontrollable shakes whilst traversing Saddleworth Moor
what about approaching from Hull, via north sea ferries out of Rotterdam? or is that just too much for a duathlon , if there was a water element other than rain it might have a stronger pull
Or up across to Stranraer, ferry to Ireland then out via Dublin to Wales then up from there?
I'm in Wales already !
