Have checked with the campsite. They don't hire caravans, but a company close by do. They will deliver to the site for €120-150, but you need to hire the van for a week minimum @ €39 per day (but will probably go up because of Ironman), then pay site fees etc.
Think I will stick to a tent, as I'm doing this on a budget. 80 sq metre pitch is €11 per night, and each adult is €11 per night. You should be able to get multiple tents on a single pitch?
I'd check with them 1st that you can do that as it maybe contravening their site licence and safety rules otherwise
I'm not planning on racing this next year, but am trying to schedule being there for the weekend on route for a long distance cycle I have planned from Wales to Turkey. Will be camping whilst there, so any advice on best place, let me know.
Just had a message back from the camp site. Can only book stays of 5 days or more
No good for me passing through. I expect it's going to be the norm' in Peak season.

Further procedure an additional information:
There is no reservation fee for bookings on our campground. However, in order to fix your reservation all we ask you for is a down-payment of EUR 50,- which then will be entirely credited to the camping fees of your stay.
As soon as we get your data and your special requests, we will send a reply containing the bank details.
We ask for your understanding that in high season (in 2014 that’s from June, 20th through August, 25th) we accept reservations only for a minimum stay of 5 nights.
Due to the high demand for the Iron Man 2015, special conditions apply in our house. We require a minimum stay of 4 nights with 4 persons per room. We do not reserve single or double rooms in this period of time.
I'm thinking arrive Thursday and leave Tuesday - so thats 5 nights.
Cougie - psychic pirate vibes - I was just looking at 4-bed rooms (I'm assuming it's this hostel?). My plan is fly out on Thursday, bunk up with three friendly Pirates until Mon or Tues, then hubby and boys are flying out for our family holiday so I'd keep the room on for another week or 10 days.
BYF, for B&B it's €22 a night for Hosteling International members, but it seems that membership price varies depending on where you buy it. You can buy it when booking with the hostel, but I can't find out how much it is !
I seem to have registered for the new IM 70.3 in Staffordshire a fortnight before, plenty of time to taper, right? As I clearly will be fresh and brand new as all my boozing money is being given to WTC.

I've booked the Plattenwirt - had to pay for 7 days, even though we're only staying for 5...can't beat the location though.
My wife is coming over too and not racing, so we need a place for her to stay while I'm off doing my thing...
Sorry to be lazy but does anyone have an email address for the Plattenwirt?
Does seem to be yonks away but a great location

Fair point FB, I'll check with the campsite.
Just thought it would be more friendly with a couple of tents on a pitch. 80 sq metres is a mighty big area for my little tent!

Campsite say we can put multiple tents on a single 80 sq metre pitch!
SaintB ... campsite http://www.camping-woerthersee.at/
result! always best to ask though
Cheers Will, looks good. Coming back as 68 euro for 3 nights, 26-29th. Sounds ok.
WildWill - did they allocate a pitch to you when you made the booking?
I've put an enquiry in, will let people know the response.
No - I just reserved the largest pitch size
Youf Ostil or otel?
Registration is still open after all the panic stories about it selling out in minutes
It'll most likely be YH for me, purely a financial decision.
I see there are a few hostels to choose from. Which one did people stay in on the last trip?
I think there's one just behind the campsite - so very close to the start

Who wants the YH accomodation ?

May be up for Youth Hostel, otherwise campsite.
Do we have an idea of the cost for the YH?
Also, how youthful do I need to be?
Will probably be arriving on Friday, leaving Tuesday (Thursday is my birthday; so most likely will spend that with the family).

Arrive Thursday and leaving Tuesday. Thats the typical time we go for.
Arriving Friday is doable - but Thursday is a bit more relaxing.
Any age can stay in the YH. Even Plum. Is he on the list ?
Ok, membership of Scottish YHA will be £14 a year for our family, which gets us members rates at HI

Right that settles it, same cost as camping, so I'm in for the hostel.
Happy to sign up for arriving Thursday and leaving Tuesday.
I'll post up the costs when they come back to me from the YH.
Not yet, only registered my interest, 2015 seems so far away and I'm just getting excited.
