Andrew, Tooting is the 9th and 10th October, starting at noon on the Saturday. Its at the Herne Hill Harriers track, Tooting Bec. You'll easily recognise me-I'll wear my Sale Harriers vest (the green one in my photo) but won't stop long for a natter.
Middle of the night would be interesting for you, it starts to get a bit surreal then and its always nice to see people. By then of course my brain will have switched off and it'll take me a lap or two to work out what's going on. I'll try to watch out and let you know if the fox is still around Jj. Oh, and I thought we all looked like our pics?
would love to come again, but i cant. i think its four weekends before IM Florida, which implies that whatever i do will have to involve running and cycling a lot. and sleeping.
I remember: Getting a headache from squinting into the sun for so long; The fox making me sad for urban foxes generally; Being shocked to find that Pantman was only 12 in real life; Wondering what the quietly spoken man hiding in the big Parka really looked like; Marvelling at how like his picture Tim looks; Wearing very big jeans; Worrying for eddum who was walking very stiffly after 'only' six hours or so; Feeling like I'd known Daz all my life.
Well next year hopefully Hippo and Shades wil be doing it so I can have my turn at the supporting side of things! Oh yes, I've just remembered-The Yorkshire Running Man and Andy Rivett are on the start list. I wonder if that means Monique's going?
starts at noon. Be nice if you were around the last few hours on the Sunday cos to be honest there's packing up to do and all I ever feel like doing is nothing!! Even getting a drink is a mental challange!! I should be collecting some supplies from my sister when I arrive, so no need to bring anything but if you happen to have a small coke on you...
no, you'll be ok Caspar. its the next weekend. Meaning it finishes 12 noon, Sunday 10th October.
I did the Sheffield race the last two times it was held. There was a 12 hour race there in 2001 too, and there was a 6/12 hour race in the south the last Saturday in July I think. Did you get my email tri-harder? I remember the scottish lass I think and she was really good too. Actually all the Doncastor folk were brilliant.

anyway i think i was looking a little scraggy in the latter stages too.

And the fox appears shortly before sunset.
Scraggily.
