Crashie and I met Mark at the Stratford Tri on Sunday - he spotted our various Pirate ensembles so came over to introduce himeslf.
What a great bloke! Comes across like he'll be a fantastic teacher. He gave us a run down of everything he's got planned for the course and it sounded brilliant!
I'm deeply jealous of you all for being able to attend this - so you'd better make it a success (for my own selfish reasons - I want to go on the next one!).
Have a great time everyone.
Lindi - can you pass on my best wishes to him? Hope he was ok after the day out. Thanks.
We have the whole pool from 12 - 2pm and then 3 lanes for the rest of the afternoon (2pm - 5.30). Sports centre fee for swiming is £2.20. If anyone wants sauna as well, that would be an extra £1.80.
The first session will be filming and drills + note taking for future reference, particularly in how to do the drills.
Then lunch and watching some of the video’s + some others I have got. Also filling in some initial notes. Then a final session to put some of the technique stuff into practice, depending when people have to go.
1 Lindi 2 Mouldy 3 Plumbum 4 Leo M (tbc once I know which day I'm doing Blenheim) 5 Donald 6 Crashie 7 and possibly Squishy if noone who's IMing wants the place... 8 John Douglas 9 Trickster
I think we are going to be meeting about 11.30 soi will have time to say hello before getting wet!
Lindi - Is it ok if my girlfriend joins the swim given there's a few spare spaces? She's not a strong swimmer - doesn't like putting her head under water. She hasn't swum since Christmas but is interested in learning to swim better. I doubt she'd last the whole day.
Plum, Warwick Uni is miles from Warwick. Go to Coventry or Leamington Spa.
You need the number 12 bus from just outside the station if you get to Coventry, or the X12 or X14 from Leamington to the Uni. It's about 15mins on the bus from Coventry or about 30mins from Leamington.
I would offer to collect, but I'm thinking of getting there early and getting a bike ride in beforehand.
Cov station then follow the signs for warwick road and there you find a bus stop with number 12 on it that goes stright to campus and stops nearly outside thesport centre ask teh driver
Plum, we'd be happy to pick you up from the station...the only small snag being that I have a temperature in 3 figures (old money) at the moment. However, I am expecting it to be better by Saturday...
I would also point out that the last time I tried to go to Warwick University, someone crashed into the back of my car, writing it off...
but mail me if you're happy to risk it )
Has someone got the address or postcode so I can find out where I'm going please?
University postcode for anyone using multimap or whatever, CV4 7AL.
It's really easy to find, take junction 15 (I think?) from the M40 onto the A46, then follow the A46 until you see the signs towards Warwick University.
Fantastic on both the swimming girlfriend and the kit front. Also i think the extra top i ordered was for trickster too who'll be there.

Looking forward to the whole day - won't be able to stay for a meal afterwards unfortunately as we've got to head to the claire's parents.

It does sound like it's going to be a fun afternoon...possibly in a 'swim til you puke' sort of way )
Mark will find your stroke and the more problems you have the greater the satisfaction he derives from sorting you out so go and relax and enjoy
