It would be good to meet some other forumites, is there anywhere obvious we can all gather if we manage to get there early? I'm planning on being there around 8.30 as parking was a bit of a mare last year
Did anyone else feel like giving up when they saw the hill at about the 8 mile mark? I tried to ask the marshall if they were "having a laugh", but I was well beyond talking by that stage!
you will all be pleased to note that baby ned threw herself on the floor yesterday and was unable to come out to play so you were all safe in dodgy harlow
was thinking of you all today, twas a hot one indeed
I know exactly what you mean- half a lap of a running track has never seemed so long.
I could see my splits getting worse and worse but couldn't do anything about it. I kept thinking I would push on at the next downhill and it never seemed to come.
Was there a hill at 8 miles then. I think I had lost the will to live by then. I hate running in the heat, bring on the Benfleet 15 in January, much more to my liking. By the Way Tracey G now you've admitted to walking I'll have to step up your training!!!
Doesn't look like it. Have looked at Harlow Running Club website a couple of times but it seems to be running slow. Takes a lot of time to enter. Certain sections of it are just timing out and despite having a good rummage around I haven't found anything that looks like results yet. If you want to try yourself here's the address:
Sorry about the lack of results on the website. Our webmaster took a surprise holiday (Well, a surprise to the rest of the commitee that is)and didn't leave the password! So it may still be a few days to wait. There were 370 finishers and if you email me I'll try and send the results to you.

See ya tomorrow!
good luck all.
I should really be getting an early night. Does watching Big Brother count as tapering?
That is brilliant. I bet you are now a happy bunny.
oh i am, can't wait!

I will be wearing all red, if you see a big guy puffing and panting away out the back gimme a cheer please.
Nice to meet you.
Boy was that hot. I am sure it was hotter than last year. I got a 8sec pb, which was also a course pb.
i got a course PB of 92:55, 4 mins better than last year, have to be happy with that.
really enjoyed it this time - the marshalls are superb, & i even got to swap my t shirt for a medium when they found a few hidden in a Large box.
like the design as well.
so i walked up that hill so shoot me!
Well marshalled and good race though.
Was it the heat that made it feel so hilly?
Almost four minutes worse than last year :-(
I blame the heat. I did Dorking at the beginning of June and that was roasting but this was worse. Slowed down badly in the last 4 miles.
Third year I've done this and I really like it. Very well organised.
The only downside was the engineering works on the railways, but there's not much that can be done about that.
I knew about that hill at 8 miles, as I did the race last year. I think I will always be walking up that hill LOL.

Congrulations on your course pb. Did you run the whole course? I hope you walked the 8 mile hill.
was thinking of you all today, twas a hot one indeed
well done all
That was a bad one- at least it was near the end though.
That is correct about mile 8 hill in to the park. I walked it all.
Yeah, that was the one! And I thought it was a killer precisely because it was near the end!
