Just thought I’d start a thread to help us who are poor(shite) on the bike leg monitor our improvements and somewhere to twist about how bad we are on a bike. Also maybe use a few tests to monitor or progress such as: -
10Mile TT25Mile TT50Mile TT100Mile TT T30 T60
??? Or am I the only one on here that is shite on the bike?

fam that posted a bit naff

WW - Stop talking like a ponce.
WTF is a TT when it's a home?
Are you talking time to do? You put 100mile in! FFS, what for, a week?
I think you definition of shite needs revising buddy!
TT time trail - time yourself over the distance as a test and moitor improvement .... Time Trial length depends on what distance you are training for or where you are in you training
a T30 etc is similar but you mesure how far you cover in a time period (30=30mins, 60-60mins etc)
sheesh
How about a ten mile TT? Or even shorter?
Why does the casual use of such numbers as 50m TT scare me?
I listed 10mile TT
The reason i listed the longer ones is that a lot of people on here are training for IM ... buits some of us are still Shite on a Bike
Might suit me in here - I think with practice I won't be shite but need to practice lots and lots and lots
Time trials make me shudder
KK - that's what the measurement thing is about.
We put our measurements down then convert them to a bike reference.
So if Wild Will does 25 mile in 1 hour and I take an hour and 40 then my performance can be defined as 0.64WW.
We can compare our WW index to see if we have improved?
Lee-s
I think every one is different to gearing for climbing ... you need to find out whats right for you ...
saying that i still dont get it right ... I am starting hill reps this week
How long a hill is a hill rep?
I thought I was doing hill reps then in my first race the hills were about 5 times as long.
Is there some common average or do you just work with whatever you have local?
ithe ones i am starting at are just short of 1k
I am doing a loop that si 1k up - 1k flat - 1k down (or there abouts)
Iintend building the number of reps then finding a biger hill - i have my eye on a 6miler not far from me
if you want it to....
But you dont have to actualy go along to TTs to get your time ... you can do them as part of your namal traing as self tests
MMM was thinking about my warwickshire tri time and working 10 mile soff that but hard to judge with me walking the transitions etc - but it is a more recent time
Whats Namal traing? The lingo is bewildering.
Self Test sounds good. Can races count too?
well.- I'm hoping the bike leg won't take me a week...
I like the idea of the WW index.- Of course, the easyway to improve will be to make sure WW gets worse!
I'm about to start my bike training proper.= (Planning to do an hour or so on the Turbo with Marathon+2day legs today and build from there)
Would it be useful to get some "goal" times from a not-shite cyclist?
WW has done an IM so he can't be that shite. I'll give it 12 weeks and see how I get on before I go looking for further humiliation
10m TT
Stump: 35m 27 secs
25m TT
Stump: 93 min 41 secs
I've not done anything else.....
Only 1 i've got is from a sprint tri, which was hilly and on an MTB. Sandbagging is allowed isn't it?
10m TT
25m TT
What you did a bike leg of a sprint tri and had sex in T2? Respect!
You were a bit premature tho.....
