Good to see you back, you may remember me from the 2006 thread as ian151. But have gone through bit of a name change since then!
Right am going to be stuck to the PC for most of the day today watching ironmandead as a few pirates are racing today in that little land across the pond. Foe those intrested the race kicks off at 12noon today.
Registering my interest - next year I will do my first mara (barring injury) and thinking of Stratford in April and Dublin later in the year. Love Ireland and the craic so dearly hoping I make it!
SL seems to have a second 13.1 of 2.11.27 giving a total time of 11.16.58 and a position of 587 which is pretty fucking impressive in my book. Well done SL.
Amadeus - not being able to swim shouldn't be seen as a drawback. I can't swim and I'm seeing a tri in 2009 for me. I don't own a bike therefore I don't do any cycling and given recent results I wouldn't say I can run a marathon. As I say some people like a challenge.
Talking about IM, I think I was on the TV coverage for a fraction of a second. You could only see me right side of my body behind another person but you could just make out the pirate kit.
Barry/Amadeus, a few years ago I would get out of breath doing 1 length (25m) in a pool, now done 3800m, not bad for somebody at school who only got a silver swimming certificate (12.5m).
lolol - i jumped over to this thread the minute i read your message, i read through 4 pages of back-posts (cos I' nosey like that!!) just to ask you what the surprise was - AND U FORGOT??????
hey kids, stuck studying today big interview is on wednesday. Mind you, I have to confess to having spent the last ten minutes crying with laughter over a rather funny video
Well five minutes was spent laughing initially and then when I realised what the words to accompanying hymn were I spent another five minutes laughing...Enjoy!
Evening all...ITB I have IMUK taped an I'll be watching it tomorow and look out for you.
My students were doing exams all weekend (cream crackered!!) all passed bar one (who didn't deserve to pass anyway...do you remember the young lad who wouldn't do his theory and I was going to tell his mum on him!!) well he's got some revision to do and then they'll review him again.
It's amazing how attached I got to my students, felt quite emotional saying goodbye to them...ah well off to celebrate!!

Roisin, it's just utter brilliance isn't it. I have to confess it's the mullets and high waisted jeans that just do it for me every time!
