I have never started a thread before, so now I have. I received an email a while back asking me if I wanted to run this one and must have been extra quick to reply as I have ended up with the number 2, so its probably fitting I should start this thread!

Have you got something in your eye Bo Bo?
Macca, have you tried the Thanet 10 on the first Sunday in December. I found Canterbury a bit on the hilly side for me and did better at Thanet despite the wind.
How hilly is it? Am doing the Thanet 10 because I have been told it is flat...and have been warned the Canterbury one is hilly!
Wouldn't want to hold the stewards up TOO much!! Maybe I should enter anyway and stop being a wuss
Schmaggle
I am a ten minute miler and Canterbury took me about 3 or 4 minutes longer than Thanet. Thanet is likely to give more problems with the wind coming off the sea, but a nice run.
Got my 10 mile PB on this course too.
Few hills here but nice quick last 2 miles or so and some great downhill stretches.
Stop wibbling and sign up. OH has done this a few times and loves it. I'm in too (well will be when I get organised). Good one to run off all that Christmas pud! Shmaggle I am not sure you can train on the exact route as some it goes through private land.
Good to see CB leading the elite field
Have just signed up for this and will be doing the Dartford 10 the previous week. Ahh the usual suspects....sounds really dull doing the same races every year....but I do enjoy them....I really do....honest.
Scotty
Excellent, sounds like my kind of run!
Hi Bex,
I'll be in the same boat as you...... the furthest I have been is 9 mile.....and after doing the Harrietsham run on Sunday I am really tempted to give it a go!!
Hi Bex
Took me 2 hours 6 minutes to do the Thanet 10! So no need to worry that there won't be anyone slower than you there, I am always about last!! And I have a couple of friends signing up for it who haven't done 10 miles before. Have heard this is a nice race to do.
My last race was the Kent Christmas Cracker at Deal (5 miles), I did it in 55 minutes - a good time for me!! Hehehe
Gutted I missed the Harrietsham race - I had the famous Norovirus last weekend (kids have got it now, JOY!) - so sadly had to give it a miss for obvious reasons. I was looking forward to it!
Oh no, not the Norovirus!! Poor you. We have avoided it so far, cross fingers but other families in the village have come down with it.
Did I nice relaxed 7 mile run today - 1:25 - that was the longest I have been on my feet running so far so really chuffed. Next week long run will be an 8 miler and so on until the 27th!
I have entered this one, my first event of 2008! Has anyone received their race pack, number etc...?
Thanks.
Redordead
No number for me yet. I've just received my number and chip for Dartford on the 20th. Don't panic!!
I have got my numbers for both Canterbury and Dartford and the Canterbury one arrived a little while ago.
Bo Bo are both of you doing this one?
