Actually, I've no idea what to aim for! As a guide, I got 2:30 for my first half (GNR 2007) then 2:14 for a flat half a few weeks ago. Have been doing steady training 3 times a week plus a bit of cross-training (cycline) over the winter. Given that Ackworth is undulating, maybe 2:20?
A man who shall remain nameless was running down a country lane. He was a bit self conscious , not being of the most athletic stature, and having rather white legs. He was approaching two young ladies walking in the same direction.
As soon as he had passed them he heard one of them say "What do you think of that?" and after he had gone on about another 30 yards he heard laughter.
The man thought "Were they talking about me and if so , is it possible to change the subject into something humorous in such a short time?"
SM
I hope that makes you laugh
And offers encouragement to the lesser talented like SM.
That humiliating incident was a long time ago. Since then, due to years of Spartan-like training I have developed the body of a Greek God (except for that small bit at the front) So when I see somebody out on a run and they are well out of shape I have great admiration and respect for them as at least they got the balls to get out there and do it. (then I shout a piss take at them..........just for tradition`s sake) ........just kidding.
Always find it quite amusing when comments are passed at me and /or chums when out running ,from either the pavement or from passing cars.I think there's got to be some degree of envy from the people commenting /shouting as their lacking the get up and go to do something( I also believe that the negative comments from motorists are made whilst their speeding toward operations for their personality defects).
SM meant to ask earlier does MOT=moment of truth or is it someother acrynom
It`s a good excuse to maintain your anonymity SS .
But I`m sure you`d rather meet some of the nutters on this forum really
I have laid off a bit from my usual rigorous training schedule to give you guys a better chance.......otherwise I would have been right up there with the fast lads.
W A L O B..................what does that mean?........think about it
