Gullies if you give t5hem a ring you might get some idea of time otherwise stick a transfer in as you can either leave anyway or pull out and stay what ever suits you best.
Well I just wanted to say just how damn good my Postie /local post service has beem over this Christmas - very fast delivery on a few things ordered over t'internet ...absolutely excellent -ive been very impressed
Has anyone here had Geo-route implemented to their office yet? They've just posted proposed changes on the notice boards at my office and it is one huge bad joke. My office will lose 3 of the current 28 delivery duties with most of them are overloaded as it is. I'm totally baffled on how this idiotic computer simulation came up with it's answers.
Am I being dumb or is Royal Mail's agenda to kill it's postmen and women and to hell with any decent customer service?
Oh, happy running for 2009 everyone. Can't wait for the Edinburgh Marathon in May.
If the deliveries become too monsterous, then I shall start working by the book and refuse to work over my time. A few posties at my office already do so, and I will follow suit if things carry on as they are. Bringing mail back at the end of my day is the last thing I want to do (I believe in a high standard of customer service unlike the management, the penny pushing pr*cks) but I'll be forced to make a stand somehow.
New regime starts Monday so no overtime, working days off, starting before 6am mail to be brought back if unable to complete wthin duty time. This is not work to rule. Talk to your reps and make sure you're covered if you know you can't complete before you leave the office you must inform your line manager to cover yourself. Will post again to let you all know how it's going.
All I know is that as long as my boss informed that I can't complete before going out, then they can't touch me. I look forward to hearing how it goes for you postie postie.
Think you all to a marvelous job...........even if it is part time work.
No really..............I used to do a lot of running and have just started back.......I saw you postie runners thingy.............and just wondered. I had an old friend who was in the Marines.......he was a postie in Lincoln and I believe is now a postie in Arbroath where he was stationed in the Marines.
I know its a long shot but anyone got any ideas as how I might find him.
Got new workboots today, FIVE YEAR Guarantee,RRP £200.00, tough as old boots, as they say.
They put the Royal Mail Shoe to shame. Also picked up Five pairs Trousers, Five T shirts and three pairs of Dungarees, dont need stormproof coat because if it rains we do work inside.
I remember when Royal Mail gave us decent uniform, but that was years ago! Would I be an idiot to suggest that RM gave us some good quality uniform that lasted for ages rather than the cheap and nasty crap (inparticularly speaking shoes) we have to wear now that needs replacing every few months? This is a company that wants to slash costs but as usual are going about it in entirely the wrong way.
How's your new modified walk going postie postie? Still cutting off or have they compromised with you yet?
The whole bloody company is CRAP!! uniform, geo route pegasus shit etc!! what a shambeles of a company! done 20 years keep meaning to leave but still there! LOL
Surviving the changes without too much mental anguish now so long as I don't get any more streets dumped on me like last time. Only a sign up to go then I can relax again.
Am doing Wokingham HM and Sratford FM at the momment not sure about later in the year but hope to do Abingdon FM in October.
I swear my manager is trying to introduce geo route without telling us when, but we shall see. From what I can tell from the proposed changes, the deliveries will be more uneven than before!
I've entered 2 races this year so far. The Forest Of Dean HM in March and the Edinburgh Marathon in May. I hope to run the Birmingham HM as well provided it goes ahead otherwise it'll be the Cardiff HM again. Will also do the Kymin Dash if I feel sadistic enough at the time!

more about more for less and more profit, and hiding the mail he he, ain't that right J****n
Postie boy if only it weas ajoke but they're serious.
We've just rejected ours and are now waiting for them to implement changes by "executive decision" the naty little dictators.
Ha Ha, it's like working for the child catchers in Chitty bang bang
Thing is, if the higher managment relly knew what their under managers were 'pulling' they would have a fit
Just seen my new frame.
Why do they have to interfere?
