if it didn't have the pool swim, I'd be up for it but I hate pools with such a vengeance it's a no go.....

  • Hooray ! Thought this event had bitten the dust.

Yep me too Alex, but luckily its ONimage

  • I'll dust my Raleigh Chopper down then !

  • How'd it go in Bala ?

I could not do it, I had to be in work for 6pm Suday evening plus I worked until 6pm on the Saturday evening, I did a 100M TT instead.

  • That's a shame. Still, it's 100m in the bag I guess. Doing this dragon bike ride next week ?
  • I think I'll do it again.  image

  • Right, that's entered !
  • Alex, how much worse is the bike leg on the proper distance???  I did the numpty one last year.
  • Pebble 2Pebble 2 ✭✭✭

No, not doing the Dragon ride, I'm riding the Welsh 50M TT champs, and supposed to be tapering

  • I see Pebble.

Nam, the bike is mostly climbing. If you can sit back and churn away you will get round.
  • mmm....  I have a 'granny ring' on my MTB...  is it hugely technical?  Are you doing the full distance?
  • Ohhhh, I think I may just be able to do this image I come back from the Lakes Friday eve...
  • Will only do the numpty one though, as I will have 3 days of serious fell running behind me and will be tired...
  • Looks a lot of fun Pebble, we stayed in Cymmer when we went down for some mountain biking in January, there's a great pub up in the village that gets lively about 2am. The race is the same weekend as Norseman so won't be around but am down your way the next two weekends for the Dragon Ride and Xterra again. I guess you won't be doing Xterra if you are doing IM France the next day?!
  • Pebble 2Pebble 2 ✭✭✭
Yep, you are right there Rich, would have liked to have done Xterra again tho, would have used a lighter bike this time, a hardtail would have been a better choice what with all that climbing. The Dragon ride goes about half mile past my house, the climbs I know very well, every time I ride I either go up the Bwlch or the Rhigos so I know them all too well.

A venture into the dark for me as an injury-prone marathon runner having a go at a tri. Looking forward to it, especially as originally from good old Port Talbot. All tips welcome. Currently, swimming around 2 miles a week, cycling around 80 mpw and after 4 months off, have started running agin this past week.

OO, you are doing more than most at the moment., carry on as you are and you will do fine, honest. See you at the start line

Cheers Peeble, when I get the bit between my teeth, I tend to go a bit full-on, hence the stress fractures!!!

Good to know though that what I am doing is OK...luckily live in a hilly part of Devon, so this should help with the cycling.
  • Alex...  I've entered.  See you there.  Anyone coming down with you like last year??  Nutty?  Sue?

Hanneke...  You joining me again?  image

  • I'll probably do it again, but the numpty one. It's a good atmosphere and maybe we'll have more of a pirate showing this year. These pirates are getting everywhere!

  • I think I saw somewhere that Han was considering it. Last year quite a lot from Nutty swimming club were there so she had plenty of people to cheer for. I think she may be considering entering a team and doing the run but herself.
  • I am up for it again, but doing the numpty one again, as I will be back late the night before from 3 days of hard fell running in the Lakes, on a Bob Graham Round recce...
  • Nutty's swimming is coming along fine, she is actually considering trying a bike but is a bit nervous. She has time, as long as she can find her balance on a bike, to train for the numpty one.

  • Yay!  image

    Should be a hoot!

  • Team Pie-rate photo afterwards!!  image
  • Ohhh yess, is it time for a list yet?

    • Nam
    • Lady Sue
    • Hanneke
    • Alex
    • Pebble
    • Ouchouch

  • Han, are you running for a team in the Roman Run ? If not how about running for 'Team Pie' ? I am putting the entries together and ideally should post all the forms off together.
  • OK, I am happy to run for Team Pie image Hoping to be about 10/15 minutes faster than last year as well...
