Fri: morning - couple of hours in the gym. afternoon - Long session (in the pub)
Sat: morning - Active recovery (paracetamol & fry up) afternoon - go to the local bike shops to see how much bling I can get for my money.
Sun: work out what I need to do in the next 56 weeks...
I have no tri experience at all but I've completed a few marathons (Paris in April was the last one) and have some experience of 6 hour adventure races.
My goals for the next 3 months are to improve bike fitness and to lose some weight before an adventure race in September. After the adventure race it'll be IM all the way.
I have swimming tonight it will be my first go back at the club since before FLM! And having cycled into work and home again I will be knackered before I get there!
I paid to swim with my club, but being ill means that I have now completed the "three strikes and you're out" so my place will be taken by someone else.
Pah - will get drills off the net or something and train myself. Always managed in the past!
PO...I got myself a Snugg custom suit and it's absolutely brilliant...and is...well...really snug! it amazing having one made for your exact specs...although I've lost half a stone since I got it so don't know what it'd fit like now!
My swim for lanza was 40 mins for the first loop and 43 mins for the second. I was severely chuffed with that...I was expecting way over 1:30
Yeh another pirate was telling me about them over the weekend as well. I definitely think I need to get down there! Apparently, if you lose a bit of weight, they will do a refitting for free?
I'm thinking about getting a Snugg wettie - I met the guys at the Expo in Feb and they were really friendly - and they do do refits too. In fact, they'll refit any suit, whether you got it from them or not. Altho you do have to pay. I'd love a custome built one cos even tho I think I'm pretty average in shape, my 2XU is way too short on the legs in order for it to fit on my body. My little leggies get really cold!!!
it's my big boobs that are the problem (for me and fitting into things...MrGFb doesn't think they are a problem at all! LOL)
i had only heard of snugg...phoned them 2 weeks before lanza, found that their turnaround was like 3-4 weeks and pleaded with them...I had my suit in 10 days...I sent them a thank you card cos their service was first class.
Hi people, did my first tri on saturday (Blenheim) think i'm following you around RIO, i saw you at Reading and FLM, though without costume missed you on Saturday!!! I loved the triathlon and definately want to go longer, but IM... It's a dream, but can i make it reality??? I may keep my head down this season and then see where next year takes me. Maybe HIM 2009 and then who knows...
My oh my are they only getting a lot of advertisement!!!
Right - I need to go there for a weekend. I want them to see me in a pool and swim with a pullbuoy and everything and then make one for me out of kitchen wrap.
2XU are cut short in the leg on purpose, I was told to pull the legs up more when it was fitted. Eased up the shoulders then. Super fast suit though, unbeliveable really.

Yeh - I would love to do the swim in a swimming costume. Wetsuits are soooo restrictive!
You will DEFINITELY improve on it! Postive thinking, remember?
My IM training for the next 7 days:

Sat: morning - Active recovery (paracetamol & fry up)

Bowi - E:1? Is that your wettie?
Mine was crap. I nearly swum over to the kayaks and asked them to take my wetsuit so I could swim in my tri suit
Yes, sorry. 2XU.
Gertie - find yourself a club with a decent swim coach.

(Should I get a pirate logo too??)

YES! Get a logo!
Cool I didn't know about the refit that's great! (I have to lose another stone so I'll get it done next year I think...yaay!!)
Ok...I'll ask Catherine RW...
Hullo again...
Bloody work... interferes with the foruming...

Rats of course you can do it. There are 56 weeks of training to go
Was probably my lack of LMN costume that made you miss me but I was in full pirate regalia so did stand out a bit
I think wetsuits will always slow me down. Which is depressing me now...
Then again, what a GREAT excuse!
Are you doing a triple?
Or do you need to better your drinking prowness?
That's what you are REALLY worried about, isn't it?
I can help you with that. My training thus far has largely been about "drowning my sorrows" so my drinking prowness is definitely on the up and up.
Gutted I can't make the social
