Had my Pirate jacket on after the race and stayed for the presentations before heading off home - hopy you had a good one.

  • Pingu, it was me shouting across the road to you on Sunday, just outside Usk. Must organise a pirate ride in the area one day.

  • just spotted a pirate cap in the slateman pics.....is that you Budjude?

  • Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrr

    PINGU at Gloucester tri.

Perhaps I should have worn yellow, or at least a Pirate hoodie whilst on marshalling/first aid duty.

  • There was a pirate at Shropshire today, coming out of T2 looking strong!

  • that might have been duda......he picked up the kit of friday as he was racing at shropshire today.......did the kit look new and shinyimage

  • Very bright. And wet. It wasn't the driest race!

  • ElBeanpole, that was me. The run was as wet as the swim but at least on the run the water wasn't green.

Felt strong too got a 10km PB on the run.

  • How  did you do on the swim? I chucked up before the first buoy Took it easy after that till I got out on the bike.

Were you racing for a place?

  • Ahhhhhh you know you've made it when you are mentioned in 'pirate spotted' image

  • No not a hope in hell, as it was my first tri I just wanted to test myself and finish with a fair representation of my training so far. You? Lovely place to race.

Swim went better than expected - 26 minutes, got caught by the fish in wave 2 behind me. No drama really, I panicked a bit at the beginning but was fine after about 250m. Any reason for throwing up? Sounds like it didn't effect you later on image

  • Same for me first time Tri and a practice race for IM Wales. I was sick because I swallowed a gulp of the  green soup after that I couldn't put my face back in the water without baulking. image

36 mins in the swim for me. I was 4 mins faster on the bike than I planned for a 10 mins faster in the run.

    How was you bike?

  • Trogs spotted getting some hills in today image

  • Bike was good too, the lad next to me in transition fell off and there was another competitor who needed ambulance treatment apparently. There were some expensive bikes on show!

Last 6-8 miles were tough steadily uphill in to rain and a headwind. I over shot the right turn in to T2 as well! Didn't expect it, had to turn around image

Sounds like you had a great day then! I ran past you as you were on that path at the exit of T2 - should have given you an arghhh but it all went by in a very tired flash. The run was frustratingly up and down!

  • Twas very nice to meet you Blisters, top quality YAARRRRRRRRING too. image

  • is pingu pirate royalty....?

having mounted an elephant i susect so

  • I thought that was the initiation and it was the elephant or Barlos?

  • Met one of you pirates at todays Shropshire triathlon, Brilliant guy just wanted to say good luck for Ironman Wales.

  • John, Thank you and a pleasure mate, how did you get on?

  • Just wondering, did anyone ever confess to this??image

Thanks for the YARRGH just before you sped passed at the bottom of the hill - made me try a bit harder for a brief spell.  Slightly embarrassed that you caught me again on the Headly road. Hoping you stopped at the cafe rather fitting in a full loop before lapping me!!

  • Who was the Pirate out on his bike in Navestockside, Brentwood at 9.30 this morning?
  • That be me

  • Any pirates swimming in the sea from Tresaith to Aberporth day before yesterday? Wearing a yellow cap with a flash of black but couldn't quite make it out. Maybe not a pirate but you never know!
