haha, probably, but happy to head down there for a few days earlier than that, maybe May or something next year. easy enough on the train apparently. although my enthusiasm for it has dampened a little after seeing those cyclists blown over!
on the BBC sports news bit they were saying there's some kinda unofficial club of people who've ascended ventoux three times in a day. how hard can it be ?
really would love to go to the alps. i'm almost wondering whether to push for redundancy to get a years payout and head off out there for a couple of weeks at a time riding all the climbs. only thing stopping me is my experience this year of not actually enjoying cycling
fantastic ride there by wiggins. brit in 4th place (assuming he doesn't lose seconds as the bunch rolls in like he's apt to do) that's amazing. he said the press laughed at him when he said at the start he was aiming for a top 20 finish. roche was saying the transformation from track rider to GC contender is amazing.
when i first started following the tour in 2004 there wasn't even a brit riding in the tour that year. now we have a sprinting wonder boy and a very good GC contender.
I watched it in a pub near the bottom of Snowdon and I'm glad I made the effort.. it was a fabulous ride by Wiggins. I expected him to disappear off the back several times but he put every last ounce of energy into it. Like Iron Bry I expected him to cross the line and fall sideways off the bike. He was completely spent.
Great ride by wiggins - with a pic of tom simpson on his top tube
It's funny how people have a different perception of things, Simpson was a self admitted drug taker, whether he died from it's effects or just pushed himself too far is irrelevant.
People make allowances because they think of some as hero's or just because they come from the same country. Until an attitude of zero tolerance no matter who you are is developed, there will never be the pressure inside the peloton and amongst the fans to help squeeze drug taking out. It is not a cure but it would help.
JD, at least we were in Zurich for the borning week I guess....'cos we couldn't hear the commentary there anyway.
Cav was ******* awesome today. I loved how George got the train back together again and the speed of that corner from Renshaw. Wow. I just watched it after a totally shite shift on labour ward. That and some cider has cheered me up no end
I really enjoyed this years Tour I have to say but I have a feeling next years will be even better, some new teams will certainly liven things up a bit!
I liked the ITV4 commentary, especialy the 'This is how you beat HTC Columbia.......' bit. How the hell they gave the main group the same time as Cav I don't know.
Might see if I can get to Paris a week after a trip to some town in Southern Germany..

oh and the woman almost falling off the simpson memorial after placing her offering there.
it did look a bit hard. think i'll do some training before i head down for my attempt!

Absolutely awesome wasn't he?

Found the BBC footage- rather scary

Fantastic pics today - went to my mates house who has HD - could have sat there all day - and the fire plane was so coool !
think i'll have to get HD for next year.
i liked one of contadors interviews, "i had to ride one racing during the day and another back in the team hotel during the evenings".

Cant see that Farrar will get the better of Cav - I dont think Cav has lost a sprint that he's been up for this tour.
would taking amphetamines really have helped? i cant imagine how awful it would make you feel.
no, not that speed
amazing end to the tour. what a great three weeks. guess the second week was boringish. but there's always one boring week in the ones iv'e followed.
wonder which team contador will be riding for next year.
Just seen a recording of today's coverage and all I can say is wow.
Great lead out for Cav. How the hell he made the last corner...
