Wasn't really planning on running tonight but had it in the back of my mind that if I felt like it I'd go out for a little one when I got home. In the end the damp, foginess of the evening rather put me off.
Club tomorrow. Hills I believe. I think "hills" is a bit of a loose term in and around Dagenham tbh tho!
Just want to keep the momentum going really. Believe me I'd not be doing mega mileage!
Sounds like a plan. Will have to be strict with myself once the run/walk starts or I find myself drifting. Worse one was Summer Enigma when I walked about 4 miles without running
I usually try run 200 paces, walk 100. Main thing I think is to start the run/walk before I've really run out of steam. If I rein it in a bit over the first 10k or so then 16 miles at 11 m/m shouldn't leave me too pooped before I start run/walk
Had planned a short last toddle of the year this morning but a lie in proved more appealing! As I'd have had to do 10 miles to get to the next remotely 'significant' number it's no real loss.
Had one of my wanderlust days - South Ken, round the V&A, down to Knightsbridge and Harrods, down Sloane Street into Sloane Square then collapsed in a tired heap on a tube!
Enjoy whatever NY celebrations you're all having tonight. And here's to a happy, healthy and successful 2011
Good morning and welcome to the New Year It's going to be a great Year - Kaz will behave herslef and go sub-5 at Brighton and follow that up with a string of sterling performances, she'll inspire others to disengage the brain and let the body achieve its potential, and I'm going to add a few more marathons to the tally and have fun racing for fun.
If you do streak, Kaz, keep it slow and very relaxed.
My new training regime started today. 3 Runs per week with purpose then one or two recovery runs just for fun. Today was a recovery run with ample walk breaks to keep the HR down and entertainment provided by Marathon Talk's review of the year.
Did a bit more than I'd planned, 5.65 (ave 10.51 pace). Shows how long it is since I did that particular route - had forgotten how far it was! Felt ok though my calves have been a bit tight over my last three runs. Will get the stick on them later.

Kaz - I am always trying for a sub 5hr marathon. Enjoy the Dagenham hills tomorrow and do one for me please.
HC - Am doing Brighton and VLM. Probably Halstead as well.
Think hills on top of Tuesday's fartlek might not be the best idea with a marathon on Monday so will do the plan's Tuesday session tonight.
Also, am thinking about having a go at streaking come the New Year. Might be one of those resolutions that only lasts a day or two tho!!!
Now have image of nuddy Kazz running across cricket pitch....
Now that would not be a pretty sight!
Should that be plural?!
4.23 in 45.59 tonight. Aimed for nice steady c11 m/miles.
Kaz - now you are making me look bad
Just got some new bedding and squishy pillows. It's going to be impossible to get out of it now to get the early morning run done.
Now then, why do you think a streak would be the thing to get you to a sub-5?
Get your sub-5 then streak til you drop.
First up we need a strategy for Monday.
How about aiming to get to 16 miles in 11min miles then easing off to 12:30s - 13:00 with a strict run/walk ratio of 3 minutes run to 1 minute walk?

The job you need to do is get to 16 miles in a whisker under 3 hours and then do what you like to get you finished.
The next one we'll be looking to get you round because it's a double
Malta will be a dress rehearsal then we'll just need to keep you in shape and then it's back of the net
Kaz - I would lose count.
Very nearly lunchtime there T!!

Have a great day.
VikW, sorry to hear you've been poorly - rotten being poorly over Christmas. Hope you're feeling much better now.
XB, I read that as "deconstruct the brain". I really do need this cup of tea
Having a slow start today. Will go out when I've finished my tea (and got dressed of course!). Won't do much. Maybe 4 miles.
That'll do nicely. Well done.
've been for a bit of intervals to get rid of the snot monster. I lost him half way round but the little bugger found his way back home again.
Are you all set for tomorrow?
