Lombster - I picked up my number this morning and for some reason they had also put me in blue. It took a couple of minutes to change to red - you just need to go to the information desk (just to the left of the number pick-up). They just give you a new number and said that they update their computrers later tonight. really easy and no hassle at all.
It was great to catch Ron Hill at the seminar thing as well
Good luck all for tomorrow. I'm arriving tomorrow morning, am booked into the park and ride. Anybody done this before as I have heard the traffiic gets really bad going into the car parks!
Can't wait to read the race reports tomorrow, will miss you guys!
Not sure why they wouldn't let you change Lombster. I successfully changed mine to red. Now panicking it won't register and my time won't be recorded! Sounds like they completely messed up corral assignments and there are going to be a lot of slower runners steamrolled. If you're aiming to finish in 4+ hours you do not belong in the same start corral as the elites.
Blimey - I've just had to read through about 5 pages of posts!
Looks like most of you are now in situ. Hope you're enjoying it so far. It must be a fantastic atmosphere are the various hotels - full of nervours/excited runners and their families.
I treated myself to some new t-shirts at my favourite running shop (Run in Hove) this morning and deliberately drove the long way round just to drive past the park. Construction was in full flow and I'm sure it's now complete.
As always I had a good chat with Kurt and Fred whilst there. They certainly have that friendly touch. Will probably be goig back to try on the new Brooks Cadence after the marathon - they feel really light and ideal for those slighlty speedier runs and interval training.
just back from the meet up nice to meet juggler,Yvonne2, rondo, charlotte Davey, lombster, Sarah Murten, Karan Ives and Ian always nice to put face to names
Then had a walk under the start line Oh it's Oh so real sad man that i am as i paused under the line got a real jolt of nerves and excitement
Cadence are the ones I have, brilliant shoes. I popped in on Kurt and Fred today too. Then had a quick look at the sea. There was a bit of a wind, not too bad but was in a direction i was hoping it wasn't. It will change a little tomorrow so that its going across rather than into you when running back to the finish line.
Its really odd seeing the cones out already. Its really going to happen. To all those that have now arrived from out of town, welcome to Brighton!!
Hi everyone, Ive been reading this forum from the sidelines for a while, it's great reading all the bits everyone has to offer. It's my first marathon tomorrow, planning to go fairly slowly to hopefully help me enjoy the whole experience. I too have been checking the weather constantly, the most accurate forecast I've found is the aviation forecast which is now suggesting north westerly fairly light winds (7mph) and a possibility of rain showers from 3pm tomorrow so hopefully if the rain comes it will come in time to cool off the later finishers!!
Good luck to everyone, I hope everyone meets their goal whether it is a time goals or just a goal to finish!!! See you in the morning!!!
You're not sad getting that jolt of nerves and excitement, that was exactly what I got when I turned into preston park on the way to travelodge and saw all the barriers and corral entrances in place
Hi cat, I'm in same boat- moved up from pink to blue coral today but still not showing on tIe app. I guess as long as our chips work that's the main thing. GOod luck tomorrow!
It's a bit late to tell you, but 8 metres before the finish there's a timing gantry which IS NOT THE FINISH, keep going til you cross the line under the big gantry with FINISH written on it - we've just spent the early evening putting banners up along the finish stright.

There's grandstand seating at the finish line this year!
It's going to be a totally amazing experience running the last 50-100 metres!!
Sorrry but I don't know how to share the picture from FaceBook.

I had a soak in the hot tub back at my parents place tonight. Feeling pretty relaxed now, fingers crossed I sleep well.
Good luck to everyone tomorrow and thanks to all the tips that have been passed my way. Much appreciated!
