well said clive...Whether I get through or not I will be backing the winners. Im hoping to get as many tips and advice of them as possible, if im not giving them out myself!
Clive what are you a surgeon in?
I apologise for my piece being all in one. I did put it in three paragraphs but that didnt seem to come through on here....just hope it doesnt bore anyone too much!
I thought all your profiles were really good and I am so pleased for you all getting through to this round. I dont know about you but even if I dont get picked for final 5, I've had an awesome time so far and you are all really deserving so I would be so happy for those that got picked - let the voting commence!
I'm a General surgeon with a specialist interest in upper GI- I mainly do stomach and oesophageal (gullet) cancer, mostly laparoscopic (keyhole) as well as anti reflux surgery. Then there is all the common stuff like hernias and gallstones
Tamsin- you too. Sorry didn't meet you at Bootcamp but good luck for this week. Don't feel like anyone is more deserving than any if the others (myself included)
Sarah and Tasmin completely agree - already felt like I've learned so much and looking forward to following the competition all the way to race day, no matter who gets through!
SB - The socks are ready ...! Just hoping they make it to Paris with ME ... if I don't make it through I'm sending them off to the winner of the GFA category and asking them nicely
DS2 - Yep! It definitely sucks to be up against a friend but I prefer to make the friends and compete (in a friendly fashion of course!), than have come away from Bootcamp without any! You were all SO nice!!
Sarah - Me too! It's been great so far and it'll be fab to follow everyone's journeys to Paris!!
Clive - A stomach surgeon? So I come to you when I get a bad case of Runners Trots?
I'll take any currency and any amount. If someone could send me a pair of the new Asics GT2000 (I assume you got the latest gear from boot camp?), that would help. Otherwise, I'll vote the same as usual.... based on attractiveness
Hi RRR and DS2 can you belive we are in the same category!, sorry sills if I met you (but can not quite remember?) at Bootcamp but nice to meet you now, I could not be with nicer runners .
Good luck and spk soon, only just got in from taking the kids swimming and now catching up with everything
Hey Tony - was wondering where you were. I'm a bit gutted to be in this company, but the upside is I will absolutely be delighted for whoever gets the nod!!
I really enjoyed Friday evening, drinking coffee, sharing stories, discussing running partners of the canine variety, Sarah's socks etc, etc....
Monday night I dreamed about sheep wearing pink flourescent socks, tonight it'll probably be labradors in odd flourescent socks running along the coastal path dragging you along with him...RRR - you have a lot to answer for!
Tony's onthebeach - Evening! Sorry I didn't realise it was you! Argh! Not ANOTHER person I should have tripped up at bootcamp ... I was obviously REALLY letting things slide on Friday
EmmaC - Evening Emma! You were great last year!! Any tips for us nervous, frantically-campaigning types?
Just realised I'm up against 2 Doctors, what chance have I got???? It's been great to see everything and everyone come alive over this. Again good luck to everyone!
To RRR I never got the chance to say thank you for helping me through the time trial, good luck with the voting!!!
Paulsamcymru - you're welcome! You did amazingly well - couldn't believe you had done the longer distances but never a 5k before! What an introduction to the distance!
Hi, has everyone set up their threads now? just about to do mine.
Clive I love the photo that you managed to get on here...mines such a close up (but I did want to hide the football shirt just incase it lost me any votes). I do think out of all the surgical jobs upper GI and vascular are my favourites.
Steve here here (and i forgot to say, I love bacon too)
Jenf, if youve posted that recipe im sure your a cert to go through!
Paul- wouldn't worry about it as the medical profession is not particularly well perceived by the public these days
Sarah- what team was the football shirt? Or is that too risky to say?? Liked vascular too, but didnt like the clinics- too many smelly feet (and not a lumo pink sock in sight anywhere!!)
JenF- promised to try recipe with kids this weekend... then will sneak out for a run while my wife cleans up the mess
Clive i dont know if I dare say just incase it looses me a few votes (but here we go, im a Blade!)
Haha Malcs maybe I should have kept quiet, although my advice is that physios are far more knowledgable than us on sport injuries, although if anyones got any questions I dont mind trying to help (Ive probably done it now)
Jen I think im going to have a go at making them when im next at my parents, just incase I make a mess!
I managed to do my thread but I really think I went on to much. I wrote so much it wouldnt all go up as one.....hope it doesnt put anyone of voting for me now they know my life history!
I just knew you had some cunning master plan in the works! Under that smiling exterior lies a shrewd business mastermind. Remember me when you make your millions.
Aaarrrhh have just got back from a late work thing and now haven't got time to do my thread. Feel like I'm left behind the rest. I'll have to make it special now.

Clive - not so jealous of your job any more!
Bugger. What size are you?
I assumed that was the origin of your forum name?
Everyone looks great and really motivated!
Not many folks for whom I could use their training or pacing though as so many fast runners this year!
Good luck everyone!

So, two medics on a forum populated by injury paranoid runners....
I don't know about everyone else but i'm exhausted by the stress of the last few days ! ....or maybe it was that speed session I did earlier
Good work all with your profiles and forum threads, I've enjoyed reading about all your stories and motivations for your goals.
Good luck everyone, final five or not its been a great experience so far.
