yep, could be very hot indeed which is going to make the cut-off time even more difficult, but hey ho - it's gonna be a great day / night out whether it's a 25.59 or a DNF, right
Hellen - not sure but I would imagine there's water at the half way point where you have to 'check-in' ? But seeing as it might be a very hot day, I'll be carrying a drink irrespectively - maybe not the backpack, but definitely a bottle.
Pete - re food, I'll only be carrying small things with me (like shot bloks & flapjacks), then have proper food in the tent.
Cake - I'll hold you that - no falling asleep for you !
No way I’m sleeping anyway it’s the missus’s first ultra and my first one for years it’s going to take me ages to get round. I think Tony Blair still had black hair the last time I did one. Anyway assuming I finish will be dancing on the side of the course after cheering her and everybody else on.
i think ill have grey hair the time ill finish lol, anyway guys whats the best type shoes for the course,it seems to vary according to the website.cheers.
I know Okapi, driving back is just over 4 hours, then up to the cotswolds in the morning with the wife for a weeks holiday,I think I will need it too.lol
Griffo - you put me to shame, I shall never complain about a long drive again.
I am, however, somewhat jealous of having a few beers afterwards. If I manage to keep it together till Saturday evening, I shall most definitely be making up for it then
Yes Cake soon as I get home bath and a kip if im knackered, the darling wife will be driving ,then I will deffo have a few beers look forward to meeting some of you when I get up there, cheers guys
found out there is no water halfway just every 10 miles so hope it's not too hot Otherwise that will mean I need to carry rucksack otherwise will use my raidlight bottle belt.
not liking all the rain forecast over the next week, could make it quite muddy, I don't do mud!
In the email I received after registering, it mentioned race packs will be sent out 1-2 weeks in advance... not received anything yet though.
Hmm, quite suprised there won't be any water at the half way point, guess I might have to take backpack then if it's hot ,.. just makes refilling quite a bit more time consuming.... oh well.

Yippee!!!!! That means I have someone else to get drunk with.
Good grief, Griffo - that's a long way to drive back straight after! And I'm worrying about the 1hr45 or so it will take me to get home....!
Griffo Are you going to get a kip before you start driving? IT could be a interesting drive otherwise?
Well it appears this is the only thread on RW today that is actally working so that's some good news for next Friday.
Yep - thought it was just me...!
