if this charidee ride doesn't happen, I may mosey on over and say hello. Not sure I'd be up to a ful lap with you fast boys, as I'm still recovering from my crash last week.
I hear of there being cake... As the athlete that I am I never touch it... Oh except this scone I'm munching now.... And maybe that chocolate cake later... Dammit! serious note I assume this Starbucks is on Henley high street?
Hi there, sorry to gate crash your conversation, but I am new to Triathlon and have (foolishly !) signed up to do Challenge Henley and would be grateful for any help.
Would it be ok for me to join your ride around the course ?
I'm not 100% sure I can make it, but thought I would check with you before making family arrangements etc.
I am starting a new job on Monday in Abingdon and I will be down sometime on Sunday, if I get down there in time I may pop along for a ride as it isn't to far away
Is anyone planning on doing a lap of the run course after the ride? I'm up for it but not worried if it doesn't happen I'll just add the extra miles onto my saturday run.
ST no just going to tag along, I am doing IM Wales on the same day, but it will be good o get to see some of the area, and to pick the brains (???) of some of the locals for good places to cycle/run.
I'd maybe like to eyeball some of the run course but probably won't actually run it as I've, what I think, is a bit of tendonitis in my left foot. No running for me currently!
ST - another cyclist knocked me off my bike last Monday, am a tad bruised but ok, got my bike back yesterday . Annoying that he sodded off leaving me with a ??70 bike repair bill and needing to buy a new helmet to be on the safe side.
Anyway, I'll be riding through Henley at about midday ish with my friend as part of the London to reading ride; I'm going to Pootle slowly on my road bike, as an hour on the road on my heavy mtb drove me nuts!
I wouldn't recommend riding the actual run course as a large amount of it is off road... But it's flat, it does not get any flatter then Henleys run stage, I won't be running as I'm riding down and really can't be arsed too bring a bag. I'm gonna do a big fat run on Saturday....
Fraggle - that's unfortunate I hope you shouted at him and called him a twat in which he clearly is.... Some other cyclists get on my nerves..

Good luck BBT. Are you moving up this way? Otherwise that's a hell of a commute!
You coming out to play on Sunday Cat? I'll be cycling over via Burchett's Green to make it a 80 mile trip if you want to join me..... I need someone to draft

You'll have to find some other mug. I'll be cycling around the Big Sur and other mountainous parts of Northern California...
Blisters - ooo see you Sunday then! I'm not going to be in pirate kit but I'll give an arrrgghhh to anyone who is. And should I be getting up to full distance? Well should and plan are two different words in my vocabulary. My running is so slow and I'm pushing so far out of my comfort zone with the swim and bike that I'm planning to walk half of Henley. I won't lose that much more time and have better chance of finishing that way.

I will be moving up, got a couple of weeks in a hotel but then need to have found a place, not sure where yet though but hoping to be closish to Abingdon

Daren't take my own cakes to Henley anyway Raf. Teddy shop person might tell me off.
its on market place I think..but yeh, right in the middle of Henley - can't miss it, and lots of room outside for bikes.
Soupy, I'll see you on the start line at Stratford. Shouldn't you be gearing up to do the proper distance though?
Shame I wont get to meet you this time Fraggle and Soup.
Fraggle - What happened in the crash how bad was it for you and the bike?
See the rest of you 10 on Sunday, I'll properly get there a little early for pre ride coffe and cake.
