Benz - if you couldn't make the cut off, you would be very close to it, and it does say if over the time, you will need your own support.
..and you have the most supporters of all, this whole forum.
Rob has already had a few entries, so I think the race limit will fill quickly, particularly when the RRC directory goes out at Xmas (God willing, and I'm not religious).
...and you could pull out at 30 miles, you would still have done over marathon distance, which is what you are aiming for, though I know you're a finisher.
...and if you enter now it will give you a target to get the training in, and if you really don't think you can do it by Feb, you can always let Rob know and he can give the place to somebody else.
...and it's going to be the ultra closest to where you live, I'll drive you home after if necessary.
Go on Tim - I know you can't normally resist something that's a bit more challenging. Think how strong you could be going into London! A distance of 26.2 would seem like a mere stroll in the park after this!
Hi Benz, you know it'll be close, its Shelley's birthday that weekend so I can't commit to it but I suggested it might be a nice day out. You're not in FLM are you? so it won't interfere with preparation for that. You've done 40 miles. Being completely honest I think you'd manage 7 1/2 hours, people will be there for you. Its up to you. No pressure!!!
Oh and Rob C, a marathon is a stroll in the park isn't it? I just want to do one a bit more quickly than has been my norm recently.
Well early start wise sometimes they do. Friend of mine persuaded the organisors of te Cardiff 100k last year to let her start early cos te cut off was determined by the park's closing time. The Doncaster Doddle did it the other way round-send the faster guys off later. well, it seems like a workable idea, what do you think? They sound liek they're trying to cater for everyone.
Hippo, I hope you enter. I've never been near this distance, like you, tired at the shorter ones. Go on, give it a go. Big hugs at the the end.............
Hippo, drop me a line directly we can talk about this. Tim might have an idea about setting out a little earlier, but I'd need to consider marshalling, etc, as law and the Risk Assessment I've had to complete for this race unfortunately isn't as forgiving as us runners. Let's chat. Rob.
Tim, the exact course logistics are being worked out in about a weeks time, as well as accurately measuring marking the course to get the official course certification -but if it helps to put things into perspective the perimeter road is roughly a 5 mile round, so it will be between 7 and 8 laps. Feed/Aid stations should be about half a lap i.e. every 2.5 miles - means regular food/hot and cold drinks, etc.
Except if she's got a number on I think Rob is responsible for her safety. Sorry Rob, hadn't thought of that. I suppose it depends on the course. Hope its ok. As you may have seen I'm a little unsure whether I'm coming down or not as now my dear wife is under the impression for some reason (gritted teeth) that I'm taking her somewhere for her birthday!!!
Benz I think you'd be better getting a trainign schedule off Shades, I'd have you doing 80 mile weeks with 25 mile long runs and 15 mile runs midweek!!!! No chance.

not for a 35 miler in----------11 weeks or whatever it is
The Doncaster Doddle did it the other way round-send the faster guys off later.
