That's a shame HC. I missed you on Friday, but Trogs looked after me and I have new shoes! Been a bit busy over the weekend driving here there and everywhere. Something like 750 odd miles since Friday afternoon!
Arrrrrg, bugger HC. I wondered why you'd not posted anything about finishing, and thought something must have been wrong I hope you feel back to your spritely self now. Good to hear you've got Beachy to come
Loch ness is a fab marathon and they seem to have stepped it up from the last time we were there. Still it gives me an excuse to go back again next year.
Run less Siggy, sounds good, which book have you got?
Is there a run more book, that's the bit I'm missing. Sock is bulked up and stretchy after weights and hot yoga this morning, and will hopefully be a little bit quicker after track tonight.
Rocco, you are very focussed and doing well. Race no for Sunday is 169 should anyone want to see a snail progress. Track tonight was good for the sock, last hard workout before the weekend. Maybe, if I can control myself in spin.
Very SMART Rocco. Well done and good effort. I look forward to seeing you revise your goals monthly!
Kate - take it easy. Training is in the bag Done and dusted. Finito Benito. End-Ex. You can rest from here-on in, or damage all the good work you've done. Good luck.
Sock well and truly stuffed with running tonight. 2x20 minute tempo intervals with 2min rest. Out and back course; was slightly slower on the return
Evening all .. managed a very quick whiz around all the machine sin the gym today before coming to work .. inc 40 mins on the cross trainer whatsit but pretty low energy levels today so I am not overly concerned legs appear to have survived yesterdays 6 miles so that is promising for Cardiff
4x6 mins threshold on the bike with enough warmup/buildup and recovery to make an hour. Quads complained about last night's run until they started complaining about the bike
Good luck for Cardiff. DNS'd there last year and knew I wouldn't be ready this year.
Morning all. Day off sock-stuffing for me today. This week i've run Tue, Wed & Thurs, done a group exercise session and a Tai Chi class! Tomorrow is my 'long run' of the week (3miles!) which i'm doing as a Zombie Evacuation run in Cambridgeshire! Should be a good laugh

Sorry I missed you PS.
wowser, for 750 miles you could've had a free place in the Loch Ness marathon
What a bummer HC, I'd love to do Loch Ness. Will post my number when I know it, it is supposed to be a fast course but it's all relative!
Running book + new trainers Siggy. Dangerous!
Nevermind HC. This thread seems to collect sickness (sockness?)/
Yeah it was the 'Run less' part of the book that really had me interested!!

Just a quick updatas over the past 6 weeks or so.
Here are my targets/objectives - August 2013
Swimming:
2k in under 60 mins (No idea where I am at the moment so this may get changed) - Swam 750m OW in 22 mins so should be bang on target for this
Bike:
100 'Welsh' miles in one go by the end of the year. Currently up to 60 miles
Running: This is my biggest weakness.
5k by September 29th (My first sprint Tri) - Park run has been 28 mins and completed my first tri at the weekend.
10k by end of the year - Booked for December
Half marathon by March 31st
Weight loss goals:
14 lbs by October 29th (My birthday) - Have dropped 9lbs so still on target
28 lbs by end of the year
This works out at just over 1lb a week so maintainable.
I will re-assess end of October and adjust accordingly
New goals:
5k in under 25 minutes by end of December.
10k in under 60 mins by end of December
Rocco nice one and HC next time gadget and all that hope your cool.
Rocco that's awesome work, well done you!
Nice one Rocco - sock stuffing is paying off
Well done Rocco excellent progress

Well done Rocco!
6 mile run for me before w8rk .. sock stuffed
Can I count a day spent knocking down a wall as cross training?!!
Book's 'Run less, Run faster' HC. A RW production!! Very kindly given to me by Cat!
Very SMART Rocco. Well done and good effort. I look forward to seeing you revise your goals monthly!

Well done Rocco.
Sounds interesting PS. But presumably everything is executed atapproximately 100mph?
Thanks Cat
Quoting is broken again!
HC - having followed the 5km plan, yes it certainly feels like it was 100mph. I remember not being able to eat for a while after each session.
Good luck Siggy

6 mile run across the fields, I would have given it a 10 out of 10, but the farmer has ploughed them
Just think of it as an excellent core workout Postie
Meldy XC is going to be a breeze this year
Lumpy postie!

I am not so sure I am ready for it but as it is a bit of fun in a tutu I think I might survive
Scrubbed up nice!
Plenty of bars at the finish line.
10.5 mile run, now off for a cycle
