Morning all - sat here bored, penultimate night shift :D

What: 6M easy (giving the county champs a complete miss - had toyed with the idea, but I'm not one for giving any thing less than 110% in races, and it would have set me back a bit)
Why: Building a mile a day back from illness
    Last Hard: 12 days
    Last Rest: Tuesday

Just eavesdropping to all you runners, picked up a strange knee injury at debut boxing day biathlon, few runs including a 10k and a fell run since, now wondering if i'm going to have to start from scratch in a month, (even walking hurts).

MikeB , your nightshifts sound a bit like mine used to be .

I also plan to do an easy run as I did 2 hours xc earlier following the previous days steady 15 miles on the road (in a split session with a 3 hour break!!)

You could say that I'm starting to take my running slightly more seriously!! (I may even change my website...but I doubt it!!)

Time for bed , I've just noticed the time!!

    Morning,

Good luck to all doing the x-country champs today. It seems that all x-country champs around the country are on today. I wonder is there a reason for this?

Good luck to all other racers too!

why:I can't run today as I've got pain in my leg and don't want to aggrivate it. Can't cycle as it's raining quite a lot here, so swim it will have to be.

Morning all, hello soda head, hamer's hoots. Good luck to all them with leg pains/recovery.

Still not running, back gone as well cold still active, but very excited as I may have discovered cause and effect, might have discovered something that "works" to prevent trouble, and am reasonably confident it will be better in short order.

And many thanks for all your good wishes. Hope to run again on Monday.

Cross country - try to avoid it if possible, so good luck to all those turning out at their county champs.

What: 1:45 to 2 hours steady as soon as I finish this.

Why: flm training starts here and I need to get the long runs going sooner rather than later to compensate for a ski trip in mid-February.

After the physio session last night I planned that today would be a gentle 6 miler to ease the legs in.

I didn't realise how gentle it would be. My legs felt like lead. A minute a mile slow.

It doesn't bode well for the 10 mile race tomorrow, which I wanted to do in 70 minutes.

Feedback from the high milers & speedies appreciated.

I wouldn't worry too much, physio can have that effect initially, it will be 48 hours afterwards when you do your ten miler- time for muscles to recover.

Anyway- you know what they say- bad dress rehearsal- good first night.

Hello Hamers Boots- hope you're going to be a regular, seems you're not far from me if you were doing Calderdale Way Relay, we had a team in (Dewsbury).

What- well feeling great this morning- resting heart rate down to 41 lowest it's been all week, so I will get and do the 15 miles easy, which gives me tomorrow as a rest day with just a swim in the evening.

BTW- Yesterdays lyrics were The Fall "Totally Wired".
