Greetings from Austria. We drove in to Kaggenfurt yesterday and had an ice-cream by the lake. It is ABSOLUTELY gorgeous. The least foreboding IM swim I have ever seen. Chrystal clear, flat and serene.
Looks like the weather is going to improve as well.
"Mum, I need a costume to dress my friend up as a raspberry" "Oh, ok" "I need it for Monday" "Well, darling, since I have NOTHING ELSE TO ORGANISE this weekend, I'll just crack on and make you a raspberry costume"
Calm has been restored. I've even resolved the tiny cock-up I made when booking our flights. Now off to spend a happy hour squeezing various toiletries into 100ml bottles.
I keep adding things to the list of things I need to buy and pack somehow before bed time Tues..........but haven't actually managed to obtain / pack any yet
Oh and the list of things to do e.g. road tax the car or else I'll have to leave it at Meldy's when we get back as it'll be illegal
Nursey - loving the idea of dressing a friend up as a raspberry, more original than a bee........basis of a new pirate game???
Sadly Tempus has Fugit-'d a bit more than I'd have liked so much as I'd like to bring along a classy pressie for the awards along the lines of a carbon blingy thing, you'll have to do with some tat from a French/German/Austrian service station, probably not flowers though I guess as they're not entirely practical
Told my line manager I was planning on jumping ship (this one in favour of the PSOF ) at lunchtime Weds and he didn't object.....means I avoid the worst times of the M25 (in as much as that is ever possible!)
If you email me at home your addy I'll work out how long it'll take me to get to you and I'll text you when I leave (assuming same number which I think I've got from a dim and distant past....?)
I don't think I've been this disorganised in a long time. However passport has been located and travel arrangements made. I'll be arriving on the (train of doom - 1), so a little in advance of the cool kids. Now just have to arrange travel insurance, renew BTA membership, sling some stuff into a bag and then start on the 'what have I forgotten' list.

I can confirm the beer is good. VERY good
Hope - Great news, keep the updates coming. What are the road surfaces like?
Packing in full swing here, got a long list but sure I've forgotten to put things on the list.
Everyone have a safe journey and are reunited with you bikes and bags at the other end.
Lake is currently just over 20 degs and set to be a bit warmer weather wise this week ...
Bring on the Train of Terror

You know how to live Nursey
Is it time to pack yet?
So up to my eyes in work I've literally not given the 'what to wear on Saturday' thing one thought. I have a Race for Life t-shirt. Will that do?
It's rock 'n' roll all the way Melds.
Happychap - not sure. I've decided it's certainly time to panic though, and they must be much the same thing?
Ditto Ladies

I'll help you throw stuff in a bag tomorrow HC

Podds, what time are you skiiving off work on Wednesday ?
Podds - you could just tax it online from Austria if the expiry is between now and your return?
Oh I dont know Symes, we could press them before bringing them back, i am sure we can find something heavy enough
Oxy joining us?

Weather report: 20 degrees, nice cooling breeze. Got a touch of red on a nice 8k run up the canal.. riding the course tomorrow
Water was a touch chilli.... It's not bath temperature
Sounds like you're settling in nicely!!
I think I'm all packed, bar one or 2 little bits!! Heading for Heathrow tomorrow after work!!
Ooh - it's getting exciting
'Think' the packing is nearing an end, the amount of crap we've got we'd do better with a large number of balloons 'Up' style and take the whole house

Blimey, cutting it a bit fine for the BTF card, FeFe?
The curse of Meldy strikes again - is anyone going on the ferry?

Sadly we are booked on the ferry of doom ironically with Meldy's bike in the van. She's a witch that one.
I'm honestly not sort of laughing about that....
