John - great to meet you and your family. Was difficulty staying off the red wine when everyone else was drinking! Good luck tomorrow - hope all goes really well
good luck everyone, nice to meet you AWC, hope the food was ok for you, it wasnt as good as i remember (new owners) but still i think it was good and reasonably priced.
Well that was fun! I haven't posted this year as I have been carrying a shin injury until about three weeks ago, so my marathon preparation was three runs. Managed to get round in 4 hours 15..... Approximate time as my Garmin decided the race was over at the 19 mile mark. Great support as always and so many gel stations. Looking forward to hearing all the stories from everyone else
3.17 - happy with that - great crowds - some strange mile markers - good drinks stations. All good. Now back home in Leeds eating pizza in the garden - not looking forward to work tomorrow
Amazing day! 2:44:16-so happy! Agree about strange Mile Markers. On long journey home so no time to read back. Hope everyone else had a great experience!
I woke almost certain that I wouldn't run and just to cheer my club mates on but with enough Deep Freeze and pain meds persuaded myself to start. And just carried on.
2:50:16 isn't what I dreamed off but I'm thrilled all things considered (like not sleeping or eating for a day before and having a trapped nerve on the spine).
Also saw and met JSwizzle! Absolutely killed it and I think got 2:49:xx.
Great job everyone!! Congrats on your times and hard work!!
PS, mile markers 19 and 20.....500 yards apart max!! Insane.
Some great results coming in well done, i got 3:07 having gone out at 2:55 pace , i punctured at 17 then wheel fell off at 19, but there is always another day. Bag drop / pickup was a farce, which spoiled otherwise pretty good organisation . chat with the Legend Ron Hill at finish, i am going get him running for Trawden one day soon
Awful to hear the baggage collection was so bad. I'm glad I pushed and strained now, if only because at that time it was running really smoothly, just a 2/3 min wait.
That's not good about the baggage. They've got some history with that...I ran the first (modern) Manchester marathon a few years ago when the start/finish was in Longford parkk, the weather was terrible, cold and wet, and no one could get to their dry clothes due to a major screw up with the storage. It was a like something out of a hypothermia zombie film.
Wow some amazing times !!!! you must all be really pleased. The wheels came off a little for me at mile 19 but still managed a 14 min PB and came in at 3.45.22 even bumped into Orapid on the way round !

I had a table for one at Linguine in Sale. Decent pasta meal and had just the one bottle of Peroni, just off to bed.
Good luck everyone-hope we are have a great day!
Let's do this !!
26.2 miles stand between us and the pub. Best of luck!
Blimey what a cracking morning! Good luck all!
It's beautiful.
Come onnnnnnnnnnn
Wow - it'e never normally like this Manchester. Didn't realise the sky was actually blue, thought that was just special effects on tv.
Good luck everyone!

3:14:55! Very pleased with that.
Baggage collection was a complete farce, 1hr 40mind stood in a queue in just my running gear! Sort it out Manchester!
