Mr A - any spare tickets?? Mr Nessie & I are going to be in London next weekend and are desperate to go to the concert (well, not so desperate that we would consider the £400 being asked by some on e-bay!).

Sorry Nessie! There's a whole load of very irate people wanting tickets (take a look at the discussion forums on www.brucespringsteen.net), and I only got one because I went down to Wembley and queued for 16 hours...

I came into work very early on the day they went on sale, and didn't manage to link up to the site yet! What really p'd me off was some guy on e-bay selling about 7 batches of 30-odd tickets at £350 a shot, for tickets with a £45 face value. I thought there was a 4-ticket-per-application limit. Someone somewhere is making a killing, and fans are missing out big time.

    Grrrrrr!

I knew there was another relevant song, but couldn't quite hear it in my head, then I bought a CD in HMV yesterday, and the penny dropped:

Running In The Rain - New Model Army

Tim - You're an eighties fan aren't you?
QUESTION Wayne Hussey or Andrew Eldritch?
  • Options

Not too sure who Tim is, but for me, I always thought Eldritch was cooler, but Hussey was more rock'n'roll. Except for when he was smashed on the James Whale Show.

    If I had to choose, I'd say.......Eldritch.

But then, I always preferred Fields Of The Nephilim anyway!

    Mr A - Eldritch - I agree
The Neph - I only liked Moonchild - Now that is a top tune.

Never saw the Sisters - did you?

BTW - Tim is "Pernickity Butt", and given his previous postings and his pic I reckon he's a bit of a goth!

I've just trawled through the messages and two seminal songs are clearly missing:

Running with pack - Bad Company
    (For those slow runners)

I'm gonna run to you - Bryan Adams
    (For the slightly faster ones)

"Marathon" by Rush. It is THE running song.

It's not how fast you can go
The force goes into the flow
If you pick up the beat
You can forget about the heat
    More than just survival
    More than just a flash
More than just a dotted line
    More than just a dash

It's a test of ultimate will
    The heartbreak climb uphill
Got to pick up the pace
If you want to stay in the race
    More than just blind ambition
    More than just simple greed
More than just a finish line
    Must feed this burning need
    In the long run...

    Chorus
    From first to last
    The peak is never passed
Something always fires the light that gets in your eyes
One moment's high, and glory rolls on by
    Like a streak of lightening
That flashes and fades in the summer sky

    Your meters may overload
You can rest at the side of the road
    You can miss a stride
But nobody gets a free ride

    More than high performance
    More than just a spark
More than just the bottom line
Or a lucky shot in the dark
    In the long run...

    Chorus

You can do a lot in a lifetime
If you don't burn out too fast
You can make the most of the distance
    First you need endurance
    First you've got to last...

    How about them for lyrics????
