Zinc Oxide Tape

I've been using Zinc oxide tape for about a week now to help with blister prevention, it works like a charm except it leave my foot with an itchy rash after use so it's quite obvious i'm allergic to it. Has anyone had the same problem or know of any alternatives for blister prevention, e.g. methods that work for them or different types of tapes. Help would be very much appreciated!

Thanks for the replies, Isn't micropore tape, paper based? Surely that would come apart at first contact with water

Try different socks and shoes that fit properly.   You shouldn't have to tape your feet every time you run.

This is a known problem. the solution is to use a pre-wrap tape under, to prevent direct contact of the zince oxide, such as Mueller M-tape.

New shoes isn't an option as I have no option but to run in standard issue army boots, i'll have a little look into socks, and doubling up etc, but last time I tried that it didn't help as much as taping

Sounds like your feet are moving too much inside your boots. 

I use micropore for nipples but for feet friction I'd use a different shoe. It may be that your foot is simply not an army regulation size so you gonna suffer

Ross - ouch, I can see now why you have to tape your feet.  2 pairs of socks maybe, I thin snug fitting pair and army issue on top?   If it's your toes then there are those toe socks that prevent blisters, right faff to put on though.
