Saturday, 24th August 2019 - I've been down for two days

Morning all B)

Lyrics: I've been down for two days Tylenol PM ain't working

Wide awake so I may as well run as it's still quite cool outside.

Parkrun seem to have enough volunteers today which is just as well as there's a big cycling race this weekend and plenty of roads will be closed.

LMH: you're doing incredible miles,  so a couple of missed bonus miles will do no harm. Give your thinking mind a break :)

    Morning.

Hope you've enjoyed the early run chicksta and that you managed yours before it got too warm Poppy. By the time I've been shopping and walked Grace and can get out for my run it's going to be toasty but I'm not going to moan - it will be a good excuse when I'm slow:-)

    What:           easy miles
Why:            it's all I can do
Last hard:    I'm keeping it easy
    Last rest:     27/7

    Lyrics - no.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

Perfect lmh weather forecast for today :)

    What: volunteer at parkrun
Why: giving back whilst I can't run (taking a chair today!)
Last hard: ended up walking 11km yesterday. Seemed to cure my insomnia but my legs ache today!

    Anyone racing this weekend?

Ale, I'm currently ashamed of our team!

I hope everyone gets out in the heat or cool, whatever they prefer.

    Have a lovely day

    Morning!

Yesterday's lyrics were "Leader of the Pack", The Shangri-Las.

    Lyrics: no

    What: probable parkrun

Why: will warm up and then decide. Left hamstring was playing up during yesterday's run so may err on the side of caution.

Could well be sunny here today!
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.

Hope you had a nice parkrun, ale.

Happy volunteering, em. Walking 11k is loads. Glad you slept better. I'm sometimes wondering how much better I would run if I slept more ;)

Enjoy the warm rays, LMH. I'm with poppy - I'd rather avoid the heat if I can.

Glad I got out early. It was another one of these perfectly still late summer mornings with a bit of mist over the fields and a beautiful sunrise.

What: 10 miles with 6@ 7:43 pace in the middle
Why: I was up for it
    Last hard: sleeping
    Last rest: 11/8

    Afternoon!

parkrun consisted of a warm up and then deciding to stand on a corner rather than make the hamstring niggle worse.

    Afternoon!

Shame you couldn't do the parkrun but better to be careful Ale.

Hope you could do some miles WP. 26 is indeed on the warm side for running.

Must be perfect conditions for you on the other hand LMH.

Well done on the walking and parkrun volunteering emzap.

Sounds like a lovely run Chicksta. Is that your planned MP for Berlin?

Good luck for your HM Wabo.

    What: rest day
Why: hill race tomorrow (14k and 1000m+) - maybe..
Last hard: last few miles of yesterday's run, back was pretty sore, worse case I will DNS or DNF tomorrow.
    Last rest: today

Have a good (bank) holiday weekend!

I hope your back sorts itself out quickly and you can enjoy your race tomorrow Hazel. It was lovely for my run, I'd rather be on the hot side than cold, wet and miserable.

Sorry to hear that you needed to be sensible Alehouse but glad you were able to.

More good training from you chicksta. I'm currently using Melatonin which seems to be helping with my sleep a little (bought it whilst we were in the USA as you need a script for it here).

Hope the heat hasn't been too much for you emzap.

I had an enjoyable and fortunately easier than yesterday MLR.

Oh bugger, ale. That's not good news. Hope it's a short lived thing.

Careful with that back, Hazel. Hope it settles and you have a good race tomorrow. Course sounds very tough.
I wish I could run that fast in Berlin but I doubt it. That's my old PB pace from 2013 but it was nice to hit it unintentionally in a training run whilst doing big miles. Seems my legs have finally succumbed :D

I read about Melatonin, LMH. But Germany is even more restrictive with respect to medication, so no chance to get it here. Hopefully things will sort themselves out when I'm through this menopausal nonsense.

Anyone heard from OH? Hope he's ok. Probably just busy with builders :)

That's a shame chicksta. It's legal to import it for your personal use here - is the same true for you? If so and you don't know wnayone that's going before we are off to the USA again in November and I'd happily bring some back for you and post it on if you'd like to give it a try.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
