It's glistening once again

  • Morning.

Yesterday's lyrics - Icing On The Cake by Stephen 'Tin Tin' Duffy.

Congratulations to Erica and well done on the excellent supporting OH. Are you running with her again today?

    Enjoy parkrun Alehouse.

It's stopped raining but I'm expecting to be paddling this morning - it's been such a wet winter so far. At least we're heading towards the longer days after tomorrow.

    What:           easy miles/gym
    Why:            indeed
    Last hard:    staying positive
    Last rest:     8/12

    Lyrics - no.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
  • Afternoon!

Quiet! Everyone decorating cakes, rooms and last minute shopping?

re lyrics, am sure you know them, LMH! Third and fourth lines as the first two are a give away!

What: a couple of kms warm up then parkrun

Why: Saturday morning. Wasn't really feeling like it today but reasonably content with 24:03 and only one large puddle which was visited twice. Was one of the faster courses but I didn't take advantage of this! 15 seconds slower than the only previous time I was there.

Then a flying visit to take presents to my brother's family in festival.

Have a visitor at present and going to deposit him at a reunion shortly so that I can get on with icing.

And had a message form Clink, who some will remember; still running every day but no intention of racing. I may persuade her otherwise.

  • Afternoon!

Well done to Erica! Can imagine she won't want to see that track for a few days once she has finished. Thanks for the pics OH.

Nearly 3 years is very impressive Wabo.

Good luck with the marzipaning and icing for those with it left to do.

Bet you will be relieved to have the break now Chicksta.

Hope the parkrunners had a good outing, in particular RFJ!

Good point regarding the longer days LMH. Took forever to get properly light this morning.

What: pre proper breakfast 8 miler with strides
Why: wimped out of that yesterday (weather), did a shorter recovery instead
Last hard: getting out of the door yesterday evening.
    Last rest: 16.12

    Lyrics: no
  • Afternoon

I hope all went well RFJ and all park runners today.

Ale:That was nice to hear from Clink glad she is doing well.
LMH: You will be happy with days lengthening :)
    Hazel:Good luck with 8 miles:-)

    What: 5.5 miles
    Why: Because I was tired
    Last hard Sleeping
    Lyrics Oh yes indeedy
Live each day as if it was your last  give it all you have to reap the rewards.
  • Late check in from me - parkrun duties this morning, Xmas shopping, a 10 mile run, core routine, lunch (ok, it was 3pm by then). Properly busted now. Gorgeous day though.

You're right, Hazel - not sure I could have coped another day.

Sorry to hear your tooth is still troubling you, LMH. You may need another dose of atbs.

Hope RFJ made his big parkrun anniversary today.

Great pics, OH. Can't believe Erica is going to do another 50k just for the hell of it ...

    What: see above
    Why: tis Saturday
    Last hard: work
    Last rest: yesterday
    Lyrics: yes
  • It's been pretty grey here the last couple of days chicksta. Hope you can relax and recharge now.

Hazel - unfortunately I think I shall be calling the dentist again on Monday morning.

I'll be happier when it warms up Poppy.

Hope you managed to get your cake iced Alehouse.

I've been slightly cheered by finding some gf lebkuchen.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
  • Evening!

Two cakes iced, LMH! One being gluten and dairy free. Always find icing stressful! Sorry to hear about the dentist being required again.

Has been a reasonably pleasant day weather-wise: nice pics from Chick!

Good result from Fulham, RFJ! That and parkrun make for a memorable day!

    Evening

What: a post pregnancy pb for me this morning at pr. Very wet though, puddle of doom at start and end
    Why: it's Saturday
    Last hard: this wasn't easy!
    Lyrics: nope

Present wrapping here though my oh had to do it whilst I played with Luke!

    What an achievement for Erica.
Lmh sorry to hear your tooth is still troubling you.
Ale great running. It's not easy underfoot.
    Nice pics chick
    Have a lovely evening
  • Well done at pr Emz!  Dry at today's except for one puddle! I made a good choice as others were off or rather wet.

  • parkrun then 5.5 miles with Erica. Afternoon tea with eldest and his gf before returning to the track for final 4 miles. Piped to an emotional conclusion with the Piper (also a runner) perhaps creating a new sport ... Run-piping!
    Glorious sunset from Birsay Bay

  • Will take up to 12 weeks for record to be checked and verified.
    10 x 50k over 10 days
  • Thanks for the details
