me either but with the discus, men are stronger so it's relative I guess, although some of the women discus throwers do look like men, so you could be right Dodge
When our athletes get their arse whopped and Sally shoves the mike up their nose and says "So, Darren, you're out of the 200m, what do you feel contributed to your failure?", why don't they just say "Coz I was shit!", rather than:
- I tore/ripped/strained my hammy - I was tired - My spikes were too tight - My spikes were the wrong colour - Mummy didn't tuck me in last night!
micheal johnston hit the nail on the head earlier tongight re GB sprinters - they are very average in world terms, but a little bit of exposure/fame and they start disappearing up their a&***s
ie talk the talk and can't remotely walk the walk, etc - there is an excuse for everything apart from the fact they are not as good as they like to think they are
the sportmen and woman from all the other disciplines are a breath of fresh air, or perhaps they haven't been corrupted by hype, money, relative fame
Well I have to say most of them after just about every race I do
Anyway . . I've just e-mailed my cunning plan to the BBC . . if only they'd use a smaller typeface they could get GB on page one of the medal table . . but I'm not going to stay up late enough to hear them congratulate me for my ingenuity!!!
was it my imagination or did the cameraman linger on their bums more than usual in the cycling (i mean instead of pulling along side to see their faces/shoulders as is usual in pure cycle races i've watched)
i forgive them though, as i now have new appreciation of what a fit woman's bum looks like
if this is the price we have to pay to get more women's sports on tv, then perhaps i'm willing to pay that price !
Back to the point about pole vaulters being ex-gymnasts, you can see why it appeals to a gymnast to take up pole vaulting - no panel of judges to completely shaft you!
There was a story on the BBC about Halkia this morning, apparently she faced a bit of a grilling at the press conference. She has improved her PB by 3.5seconds in the last 12months. They seem to have taken it off the site now so maybe they became concerned as to te legal implications of the suggestion that there was "concern".

Why thank you me lady
Can you believe that there are some people in the Forum who think it's a skirt in my pic!!! Not naming names of course but that 'Melda's one of them
I thought they were just giving us time to read their names when they lingered on the lady triathletes rear wheels . .
Olympic chat . . reported on Radio 5 last night . .
The Russian lady pole vault winner is alleged to spend all her Grand Prix prize money on shoes.
So at the press conference after her victory the other day she was asked, via an interpreter, if this was actually true.
Apparently she puzzled over the reply for a few moments and then replied, again via the interpreter . . "no, I gave up archery last year" . .
And as it was on the BBC it M U S T be true!!
But instead, a nice long shaft to impale you!!
but shes still gotta race -not just turn up and collect her her medal
