Agree there has been some strange results this season more so over the Xmas period and wouldn't just be confirmed if ManUre go and beat Citty in the cup this weekend.
Feel Man City v MUFC should be a good game to watch on Sunday, as for the result I reckon it will be a home win, but not made my mind up on the score yet.
birkmyre: are you still with Virgin? I just had an e-mail from them saying it is free ESPN from tomorrow until 3/2/12, so hopefully a few decent games to watch in that time, plus any of the other sport they have on.
Yeah, I watched the Bristol Rovers v Aston Villa game. I found it not that exciting and did doze off for a few minutes things were that good. Arsenal v Leeds might be a better watch.
The big one latter then, my prediction is Man City 2 - MUFC 1.
Well another dubious decision today with the sending off of the City defender - I was looking forward to watching the game but after that I just had enough and turned off. I may be old fashioned or whatever but the rules or the ref's are destroying football. It is a contact sport. All this playing up to the ref needs to stop.
p.s. Glad none of you watched the game between Blues and us - terrible game.
In the end it was a really good game but yes it did probably determine the result.
Watched it in slo mo and I just can't see how it's a sending off - his feet aren't off the ground, they aren't together so not really 2 footed, he isn't sliding far after touching the ball so not really wreckless or excessive force, it's partly side on so not straight at Nani. The direction Kompany comes from he's got to go with that foot and that means sliding in arse down face up - he gets the other leg as out of the way as he can in that position.
They may as well say any slide tackle is a straight red.
I reckon City would have won yesterday if they had not had a player sent off. At least pulling two back in the second half will do there Premier League confidence no harm.
Liverpool v MUFC in 3 weeks sounds the tie of the round.
With City going down to 10 men in the first 10 minutes to come back like they did is sheer brilliance, if they only had that little bit extra they'd of done United.
Both sets of fans stood up and applauded a great game.
Bradfod City were in the 3rd round of the FA Cup for the first time in 9 years this weekend...Ended with a 4-2 loss. Great day out in London and I've now had my last drink till March!!!
Another hill: yeah, just heard that on the radio. Surprised Warnock has gone as I thought they were going to give him money to spend his way out of trouble, but suppose in reality they have just not been getting the points they should have. If Hughes does go there, I'm sure they will be fine this season.
I think Hughes suffers from being British - same as O'Neil - to get a job with one of the top 4 or 5 it seems you need to have won stuff, and you can't win stuff in England without being part of the top 4 or 5.
Redknapp is possibly the exception but look at how long it's taken him to get there. I'm discounting Fergie as he got that job in another age.
On the subject of Hughes, is it just me or have QPR got things arse about face? They are chasing Hughes, considering the managers out of a job, I would have thought he would have been the one to be after the job...?

Another thumping for MUFC, not really the preparation they wanted for Sunday's FA Cup clash.
Good away win for Bolton to lift them of the bottom of the league.
SR: I never saw that 3-0 coming for Newcastle.
A really mixed/surprising season for results.
Ah'm a bit chuffed like...
birkmyre: totally agree, has been a strange season with some of the results.
Anyone seen Tim Howard's goal? quite an effort from that range, must have been serious wind behind the ball.
Great win for the Barcodes and Barkles!

SR: Yeah saw Tim Howards goal. Cracking one. He was a bit bemused by it !
The big FA Cup Tie got to be...
Fleetwood v Blackpool
SR: Oh yes

Hi All,
Well another dubious decision today with the sending off of the City defender - I was looking forward to watching the game but after that I just had enough and turned off. Another : My younger son watched it and said it was a poor game.
Thought it was never a sending off for the City defender yesterday.
Man Utd v Liverpool in next round !
Another: Good point, Same with keepers 'making contact' with forwards in the box. How is that now given as a penalty ?!
I thought they had to actually foul them for it to be a penalty ? Or am I old just fashioned ...
I reckon City would have won yesterday if they had not had a player sent off. At least pulling two back in the second half will do there Premier League confidence no harm.

Mark Hughes on his wat to QPR, by the sounds of it.
Will leave 4 of us in the relegation scrap.
Redknapp is possibly the exception but look at how long it's taken him to get there. I'm discounting Fergie as he got that job in another age.
SR: I wondered that myself re Mark Hughes and Chelsea. Mind you they got rid of Ancelotti at the end of last season !
Henry, well 'the script was written for him' last night. Classy finish. Leeds had dug in and had defended well till then I felt.
That game was very poor if you ask me last night. Too much ball given away!
Leeds have got a very long way to go if they think they will be playing with the big boys anytime soon.
Yeah disappointing game...
On the subject of Hughes, is it just me or have QPR got things arse about face? They are chasing Hughes, considering the managers out of a job, I would have thought he would have been the one to be after the job...?
