The thing I think about is how quick these managers get the job. It happened with MoN to where after Bruce was sacked he was in position within a few days and now the same with Warnock and Hughes. It makes me wonder if MoN and Hughes were tapped up before the existing manages were given the marching orders.
Another hill: I think MUFC are desperate bringing Scholes back. I feel he could make a few mistakes at crucial times due to his age and lack of fitness, just like he did on Sunday with City's second. But Henry probably still has something to offer as a sub, not sure if he is cut out for starting to many games.
Don't think managers are being given enough time to establish themselves at the moment. I'm not a Warnock fan in any way, but thought QPR were a bitquick to sack him.
Was there not talk of Warnock going in the summer anyway. Guess the new ownership gave him time, but with QPR's recent dismal form maybe they just did not want to risk giving Warnock money, when they could make a fresh start with Hughes. What ever the case I reckon QPR will finish somewhere around mid table come the end of the season now.
Nobody knocking Scholes or Henry as players - just the clubs not spending the pennies instead. Ant B don't think Fergie can get the player he really wants?
I missed the match tonight but have had a text from my footy buddy and another couple of dubious decisions - Glenn Johnson & Gerrard both dived in with studs showing. Then again they both play for England so Schhhhhhhhhhh and if Gerrard says its O.K it must be
It was a very boring game, but then what do you expect when Liverpool are involved in a game since Dogleash has been in charge, they are a terrible side to watch.
If last night was a 'good professional performance' what is the excuse the rest of time?
Johnson's tackle was worse than Kompany's.
Andy Caroll looks more like a pub side player with every passing game, but then I suppose given that that nice fella Suarez is banned, options are slightly limited in that dept.
birkmyre: so much for our prediction last night, and your son was right, it was not the most exciting of games. To be honest after watching City in the two cup games, it does make me wonder how there sitting top of the league. I know there missing a few players, but with all the money they spent they can not really use that as an excuse.
Good win for Tottenham last night. They might still yet pose a threat to the tittle if they continue there good form.
For me Johnson's tackle was far more of a red than Kompany's - I always used to play by the rule if you got the ball first that's all that matters but I reckon he was lucky to get away with that these days.
Apparently there's a new refereeing directive out too - anyone passing the ball to Caroll gets booked for timewasting.
Maybe it would be best if Liverpool cut there losses and sold Carrol back to Newcastle. After all he is not getting anywhere fast in his current situation.
Carrol reminds me of Garry Birtles (dunno if anybody else remembers him).H e was a prolific striker for Forest who was sold for big money in the autumn of 1980 to Man Utd and struggled to score. He was sold back to Forest for a quarter of initial fee 2 years later.
Probably would have worked out best if Torres had stayed at Liverpool and Carrol at Newcastle in the first place. Both of them have been serious disappointments.

Would of thought so...He isn't short of a word or two so we will here his side of the story somehow.
Warnock or Sparky?
I would agree SR,
Anyone think that Man U, and Arsenal are being a bit desperate bringing back Scholes and Henry?
Birkmyre - No shock to me that the appeal failed. I think the FA are looking after the refs.
AH: Just thought they might have realised it was a decent / fair tackle and the ref made a mistake (In my opinion) !
But then I suppose the refs are only doing what they've been told to.
Scholes coming on on Sunday, was a really big surprise.
Scholes in the 30 mins on the pitch made more passes than any citeh player did in the 90 mins & with a higher pass completion rate 97%
Give him a few games & he will be Fergie's best ever Janauary signing.
Kompany got exactly he deserved,if Nani had not jumped over his reckless challenge we would be talking about a player with a broken ankle/leg.
Played em 3 times this season beaten them twice, say's it all for me!
Nice to see Sparky back in football.
God its been ages since I checked in and some things never change!!!!
Happy new year everyone.
Scholes passed from side to side and kept the ball very intelligently against 10 men.
I think Fegie will buy to really solve the problems.
Can Fergie afford to buy now they will be short on there usual Champions League money?
birkmyre: I agree, I also predict Man City 3 - Liverpool 1.

Fergie won't buy until the summer.

And Manure are full of flair this season!!
Last night was a good proffessional away performance.
Johnson did leave the ground with both feet of the floor, but was miles away from touching the player. when does an interception become a tackle??

Johnson didn't tackle anyone he got the ball before it got too anyone.
Kompany's was soft red!!
Caroll does look completely out of his depth in a red shirt, even the simplest of passes are going astray.
Would never even try to defend Suarez he was bang out of order and for once the FA got it right. just hope they are consistent.
We have played fairly fluently this season (can't hit a barn door!!) and should get better with SG coming back.
Still way off the top 4, always next season.
