URWFRC Kit...

Hi everyone,

It seems by now, most of you have got your kit. I know there are still one or two people waiting - hopefully it will all arrive in the next couple of days. At least one that I know of has arrived only today (Tuesday) which is pretty pi$$ poor seeing as they all went out first class on Thursday! Must have been leaves on the envelopes or wrong type of snow, or something...

Most of you seem to be happy with the fit, but it seems some of them have come up a bit big on a few people. I myself have been a victim of this in the past, twice on the same vest in fact!

Wasp have a sizing policy that is a little bit difficult to understand, but is based on the garment being cut slightly bigger than stated chest size to take into account of how they are normally worn. This increased allowance differs between the vests and the vestops which explains why I, for example, wear a 44" vest and a 40" vestop.

Unless you are very, very, very lucky and we have spares in the size below the one you ordered, I'm afraid the nature of how we get these things ordered means that we can't offer an immediate replacement. There are basically two options available. Return the unwanted garment to me (unworn and in the original plastic bag) and I will either send you a refund plus postage or can put you down for the new size when we make the next order (this helps build up minimum numbers for the next order to the suppliers as well). For those of you in this situation, please let me know what you want to do. Alternatively, you can speak to Wasp direct and see if you can come to any special arrangement with them. Contact details can be found on their website at www.wasp-sports.co.uk.

Happy running.

  • thanks xxxxxx I'll buy you a beer if our paths ever cross......
  • Got mine this morning apparently but haven't been able to try it on yet!

Thanks once again DW - superb.
  • DW

I'm one of those whose vest is too big. If you happen to have a male 38 (which I doubt) I'll send you my 40 back. Or if there is anyone out there who'd like to swap their 38 for my 40, then I'll happily sort it with them direct.

If neither proves possible, then I'll stick with what I've got - a good bit of Xmas binge eating and it'll probably fit nice and snug ;)

    Let me know

  • neilruns,

I've checked on M38" vests mate and unfortunately there aren't any spares. If any of the people who had a M38" get in touch wanting to change theirs, I'll let you know or put them in touch with you.

I got into my 44" using the same strategy as you suggest (ie. eating!).

  • Greater love hath no man than this, that he should lay down several layers of fat for his club.

I'm thinking of snipping a couple of inches out of each shoulder strap.
  • Mine arrived yesterday - big thanks, DW. It was left on my doorstep by my rubbish postie, but luckily the locals didn't clock it and try to sell it on for crack! Fits like a long-sleeved-running-top-shaped-glove.
  • Mine arrived yesterday, but could have been in the Saturday post as we get that on a Monday too. It's generously sized, but I ordered a 34" as I find most sports kit on the skimpy side.

MUCH better quality and finish than any running vest I've seen in the shops, and for once the armholes don't reach down to my hips. Wish I'd ordered a long-sleeved one as well.

    Thanks, DW!
  • Agree with V-rap. The quality is excellent. I want a long-sleeved one too. When's the next order ;) ?
  • Tea and Toast Man, how much crack can a URWFRC top buy? (Not that I'm buying or selling!)

    V-Rap,
All the vests seem to be generous - I know mine is!!! Haven't got any small-sized long sleeved tops left at the moment I'm afraid. Seems to be plenty of interest still though, so get your order in.

    neilruns and others,
Next order is as soon as we reach the next minimum order. Maybe January if there is sufficient interest.

  • In Camberwell, I'd imagine enough to make you forget you're in Camberwell for a good half hour or so!

Will be wearing the top out for a test run tonight. (Along with scarf, long johns, hot water bottle, etc etc... Brrrrr!)
  • cheers DW mine arrived with the lunchtime post.

its a bit baggy uner the arm oles, but not a huge prob

    Cheers M8
  • Ive placed an order for a 42 DW, but if theyre generous could you change my order to a 40. I,ll Email my detail so you can match it up easier, cheers.
  • Dear DW beimg fairly new to the forum (though isnt it addictive once you get going) Could you pleeeease let me know how I can get my grubby little hands on some URWFRC running kit I have been back to the dim and distant black holes in the threads but cant seem to find anything. I realise that a reply is going to get yopu inundated with thousands more orders but I really really would like a vest.
  • Hi DW

Got my long sleeved top this morning many thanks :-)

It is a little on the big size, I ordered bigger as vest is a little skimpy round the BTM. However as I will be wearing it over a wicking tee I don't see this as a problem.

Thanks again for all your hard work.
  • DW,

I recieved my short-sleeved vestop the other day.

THANK YOU. It is outstanding, fits perfectly (the sleeves come exactly down to my elbows!) and looks the business.

See you at a race some time, when I shall likely be wearing it! :)
  • Thanks very much DW,all the best for christmas.
  • Tried it on this evening as soon as I got home from work - it fits perfectly!!!

    Cheers DW, and Happy Christmas!!!
  • DW - thanks again - there's a parcel waiting for me at the local sorting office - got here Monday - but I won't be able to pick it up until Saturday.

Not to worry - I'm sure it'll be fine and I'll be road-testing it at Windsor on Sunday.
  • Mine's come, DW - it's great! Thank you v. much indeed :) Now I'm all ready for Helsby :)
  • Jim the Plum,

To order the kit, go tohttp://www.urwfrc.org, register and then follow your nose around the Menus until you find the link to kit, and how to order it.

(Unusual name you have, but then I suppose that's a bit rich coming from a little piglet! :-)
  • A bit "rich" Wee Piglet? Do you mind?

(Sorry, a bit sensitive first thing in the mornin'!!)
  • Oh no - is mine lost in the post? There was a piece on breakfast news this morning about where all the lost post goes (Belfast apparently). I hope my kit isn't headed for the lost post pile! I ordered some kit for me and some for Mrs Jez - of course its only mine that has gone walkies (or not if you see what I mean). How long before I start to panic ? Will I be the only one at Windsor on Sunday without club kit ? If so at least I'll be easy to spot !
  • Got mine on Monday DW, thanks loads.

When are the hats, shorts and jackets coming out? As if you aren't busy enough.
  • Thanks DW rec'd mine yesterday. Now I can do my long runs and keep a bit warmer than I was at the w/e.

    Cheers
  • Jez, I've emailed you.

Sarcy, whenever you take over as kit sec and organise them. ;-)
  • Arrive in CH yesterday and fits perfectly will be worn tonight for my run. Thanks DW.

  • Hi DW - just joined the huge queue at the Sorting Office and got my top. Of course when the q saw what I'd got they all wanted one but I said tough and refused to swap it for a t-shirt - some things do change you see (sorry - obscure Dub marathon reference there!).

Looking forward to wearing it tomorrow . . thanks, you're a star.
