Yes - feeling stronger with each day at the moment. Did 4 miles at lunchtime today, 3 of which were roughly at MP - felt really good and then worked out it was about 3:12 pace!!
Still got the feeling things are almost going too well though - giving anyone coughing and spluttering on trains and tubes a look of abject horror!!
I think that once you've been and registered at the expo (which is a good atmosphere in itself) it will really sink in and the countdown really begins.
1. YOur number 2. What you look like ( for the other supporters.- I should remember you even without my beer glasses) 3. What time you're expecting. 4. Anything special you'd like us to provide...
Just a quick hello to all other team 8 members. Indeed i am raring to go, so keen i very nearly made the trip to the airport 24 hours early, opps. Will be heading to expo on Thursday so might see you there K2
Hi Team 8 Martin J.Think you're right about it sinking in when you've been to the expo. Going tomorrow then 3 easy (hopefully) relaxing days before the race. Good luck all with the taper and look forward to seeing the supporters at 18 miles.
Hi all Team 8 and our brilliant Support!!!! Clearly I am in the presence of gr8ness! coz I am definately going to open that champagne languishing in the fridge if I break the magic 6hr mark. You are all welcome to come back to our place in Staplehurst, but I think you'll all be in the Thistle bar when I am having my chip cut off. Hope everyone gets the wonderful time they want.
I will look like a lop sided table at a jumble sale - proudly wearing the Cancer Research electric blue vest, have dyed my hair grey and you can tell my pedigree: 52120 in Red. Sadly I don't expect to reach the Mudchute party much before before 1.30pm... so please please take pity on me and leave a banana, 2 paracetomol & directions to the finish LOL.
Going to Expo on Thursday lunchtime for pasta and will visit Cancer Research of course. Can't wait...love to you all xxx
Hi to all members of team 8 and of course our fantastic supports.Haven't been on the site much lately for various reasons but I'll be going to Expo early tomorrow at about 10.30 /11.00. I'm running for CLIC and will be wearing their luminious green vest on the day with "Stylish" down the sides both back and front. I'll also be wearing a yellow "Smiley" badge on the back of my black woolley hat. Alot of other formites from the Sub 4.30 thread are wearing these badges.Anyway my number is 35526.All the best to everyone.
<Snipped from Sean Fishpool's mail> And finally: of course you can drop things off at the stand. Would you like to keep anything else there - maybe a message book divided into pages for each support group, for people to say hello to each other, for instance? Just a thought...
</Snipped>
So if you have anything you want to drop off and have us pass back to you, just look for the RW stand.- I think it makes sense to label it up with your number and team number.
Comments
will you be there for me ???
??
Fit...er, as I'll ever be. Raring to go...umm, to get it over with yes!
Just seen that the BBC finally has a "London Marathon 2005" section on its Sport website. Guess that means we can all turn up on Sunday then!
Still got the feeling things are almost going too well though - giving anyone coughing and spluttering on trains and tubes a look of abject horror!!
Looking forward to meeting the supporters at Mudchute - I know it will keep me going for the couple of miles beforehand.
I'll be working on one of the Sweatshop stands at the marathon expo from late Thursday morning to Friday evening. Any Team 8-ers come and say hello.
Hope everyone else is in fine fettle - if you aren't, give it a few days of rest and fuelling and you'll be raring to go!
